Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Particularly since my liberal friends and acquaintances have not dared to say a word about this. The list of fringe benefits just keeps getting longer. (^:

It's interesting that they are the ones claiming that "the children will killed" and here our soldiers release these kids and still our soldiers are the bad guys? I guess it's to be expected coming from the people who protested this war because some people would die while at the same time ignoring the fact that the war would prevent thousands, hundreds of thousands or even millions of deaths sure to come under a continued Saddam or Qusay Hussein regime.

One of those 537 votes was mine, and I'm as proud of it as I am of anything else in my life.

Without that and 536 other votes, we'd be far closer to Baghdad circa 2002 than Baghdad is to us now.

Those Saddam Statues remind me of those cheap looking statues of apes in Planet Of The Apes. Yes. And as turned on the television in my uncabled home, and tuned into the local CBS station, and Blather's face was displyed, I think from Syria. I thought to myself, "He looks like an ape."

"The Nightly Liars on the networks are playing up the "looting" as a negative. "
Who watches that 'porn' anymore, or actually reads the big city 'fishwraps'? The brain-dead? DUers? That's so 9/10.
