Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Special thanks to Null and Void for keeping these threads running on the weekends, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, Ragtime Cowgirl for her Exclusive Live Transcription Service, Fledermaus for his 15 minutes of fame, and, of course, Belly Girl...

You have to know that I'm definitely no liberal. I've defended President Bush 41 many times over the Iraq issue. He was abiding by the UN resolution at the time to drive Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait.
I've also made the point to my liberal "friends" that it was X42 the Sink Emperor who decimated our military, and talked big about getting Saddam Hussein out of power, but did virtually nothing when the UNscom inspectors were kicked out in 1998, and did nothing in the face of mounting terrorism against us.

I'm surprised that helen has never questioned Ari's "objectivity" because he's Jewish...That would be too much even for the DC press idiots. She would be kicked out like she was from the Liberty Lobby.

BTW, is that picture of the blonde on your website really
you??? Gee, you look familiar. No wonder you wrote "I'm married" in red print, LOL!

Thanks. I'll pay ya back.
HERE is the link to the Star Tribune.
First they have a poll asking where you got your war coverage....broadcast TV, cable, internet, other? I didn't copy results for you, but broadcast networks,ABC et al, got 1%! LOL!
While you're there, they also have a great Photo Gallery, like this:

I have so far refrained from going over to a web forum where I sometimes post to gloat at the America haters there.
I may go after lunch.
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Thanks for the links, Cbolt. It makes catching up a lot quicker. My pleasure. Thanks for the compliment. I wish I had started doing that on Day 1. The aggregated summaries would be a good way to review the war -- it's easier to find timely links when the action is going on, than it is to go back and perform "heavy lifting" research. Oh well. At least the last three days have that. I have an out-of town assignment tomorrow, so won't be able to contribute during the day.

You know, my innocent question as to the meaning of a certain British word... (I shall not repeat, we are a family forum). But boy, did it generate a response!!! :-)

I have a feeling that a lot of the people on the left will become enlightend today.

Exellent article re the Palis reaction to the truth. As I've said many times. The 'arab street' is lucky if it's I.Q. reaches even room temperature.

Is it my imagination or does the WH press corp seem more respectful today?
To: tame
You look familiar. I get that all the time. Seriously, people will walk up to me and start talking like we have known each other our whole lives. I have no clue who they are. People wave at me, say, "Hi, {fill in whatever name}!" and it's never my name. I guess I just have one of those faces.

We've known since January that he was a HE...and would be named for my dad, who used to hold me on his lap to watch "Gunsmoke" and "Paladin"...so it had to be cowboys!

Has anyone else had problems with their "New posts to you" function. When I click on this function it doesn't update.
To: melodie
Yes, absolutely, he has aged in the past several months.
That this Administration has to play global clean-up crew for the disasters wrought by the previous bunch of nitwits and perverts is historically scandalous.
Every dimension of our lives -- national security, economic security, decency and morality -- was put in the sewer by x42 and his ilk.
