Rally for America on PBS and a hometown hero.

Click to play

On the Homefront:

Spencer Michels reports from

Sacramento on how the Iraq war is affecting veterans. The best we can

do here is the audio. It would have been nice to see former Lt. John

Kane representing our veterans and police officers so well, and

Stephanie Brown with vets at the VA Hospital here.  We

found it a balanced report with our side getting the first

and last word for a change. We're sure those members of our Armed

Services and their families, who may have viewed it tonight, appreciate

the brief scenes from our Rally for America effort in California's

Capitol city. Most of California did not see the program

tonight due to PBS membership drives

Scenes from our

Sacramento Rally for America and a true American Patriot, John Kane

will be featured on The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer.

Check

here for program listings in your area

Who is John Kane - From the Sacramento Bee:

Twenty months ago on Mack Road, a fleeing

murderer named David Scott Daniels crashed his car into motorist LaTanya McCoy

and killed her. Daniels screamed for help, claiming he was pinned and bleeding

in his car. A Sacramento cop, Lt. John Kane, grabbed a bulletproof shield and

led three other cops toward Daniels' car. "I knew he might be setting us

up, but if he really was bleeding to death, we couldn't stand by," Kane

said. "I took the most experienced guys and said, 'Let's go.' "

Shots rang out from the would be cop killer's

banned assault weapon.... more: http://crimewatch.us/indexn.htm</ font>

As an aside for everone reading this.

NPR (KQED) is having its bi-annual pledge drive! May I suggest that it's a GREAT time to click on the FreeRepublic pledge button instead.

It's not worth another thread, but on tonights local TV news, they reported the Field Poll saying that 63% of the Bay Area supported the war in Iraq! Wowzier!
