A U.S. B-1 bomber that tried to kill Iraqi President Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) in Baghdad dropped four satellite-guided bombs only 12 minutes after receiving orders that 'this is the big one,' the plane's weapons officer said on April 8, 2003. 'We used four weapons on the target,' Air Force Lt. Col. Fred Swan, told Pentagon (news - web sites) reporters of Monday's attack in a telephone interview from the region. 'From the time we got the coordinates, it took 12 minutes to get the bombs on target.' I thought about this yesterday and today as I drove. I think the are roving flights up above just waiting their turn in line to advance on a target. There would have to be. Especially close air support.

"Just wondering...are you surprised that they released the crew names.....? Now that is a JDAM good question!
Ollie North was plagued by Islamic hit men for years and years over stuff like this.
Hmmm....

Hmm, only 12 minutes. Faster than Domino's Pizza. And a lot hotter too.
To: ken5050
In most cases the decision to release the name is up to the individual serviceman. They can choose to remain anonymous.

LOL! I don't think he is all in one piece after last night! He is now in a gazillion little pieces!

I know, but you'd think that somweone in the DoD would have "advised and counseled" this crew that for the foreseeable future anonymity might be the wise course of action, for them and for their families...

I just hope those co-ordinates weren't some B.S.from a bogus source. We got "played" by these types in Afghanistan.
To: ken5050
I was very surprised to see the specific crew members named...hmmm? I wonder why they did that.
