Bush: 'We are committed to the Road Map'
By THE JERUSALEM POST INTERNET STAFF
President George W. Bush said Tuesday that the US and Britain "are committed to the Road Map toward peace."
Speaking at a joint news conference with British Prime Minister Tony Blair in Hillsborough, Northern Ireland, Bush added: "Now this process must be carried forward."
Moments earlier Blair also reaffirmed Britain's commitment to the plan, which calls for achieving Palestinian statehood by 2005.
"It's a hopeful time. I believe we can make progress," Bush said.
Bush further said he is pleased with the designated Palestinian premier Mahmoud Abbas.

I am not blaming America for all Israel's problem.
I don't view America as bad Gentiles. I view America as the greatest country on the earth. I serve her proudly.
But I do not close my eyes to America's cupability in leading up to Oslo. Oslo was Israel's self-inflicted wound... but, the pressures exerted on Israel after the Gulf War played an important role in Oslo.

Monday morning quaterbacking??? The truth is that's all this whole board is.
What atrocities would you be speaking of? Israel defending herself? The massacre in Jenin, by chance? Or is it the US bombing innocent Iraqi's? I think I see where you're at...moral relativism(sp)is that it? I could sit here and go back in forth with you all day, but am becoming bored with it.
The Palestinians are not "palestinians" they are Jordanians!!! That is a fact, history can be rewritted but not changed!! The issue is not the non exsistent palestinians, it is pushing Jews/Israel into the sea. Either you want Israel as a nation removed from the face of the earth or you don't. That is the issue, not matter how much everyone wants to obfuscate it into something else.

I agree with you -- we need to give this "roadmap" a little more time until we have taken out Saddam's regime. With finding the Paletinian terror training camp outside Baghdad would say we might give the Israel's a little help in ridding that area of terrorist.
Personally I think the roadmap is a bone to Tony Blair and not sure it will be implemented in the end! I don't see how it could be implemented without huge changes in the Palestinian leadership including the terrorist organizations.

And I believe that this President will not allow a state to be formed as long as Arafat and the terrorists have free reign in the Palestinian state.
There will have to be huge changes before it is implemented. I trust the President on this.

So we begin to pay murderers when they stop killing people? The Arabs in Israel created the PLO and have been killing Americans and Jews for 30 years under that flag. I don't give a rip if they moon walk to Bagdad, they have already burned the bridge to peace. How many bus bombs does it take to be a terrorist group? 1, 100, 1000?
We need to declare war on Palestine, not kiss up to it.

So much for putting a nail in the UN coffin...

We welcome the efforts of U.N. agencies and non-governmental organizations in providing immediate assistance to the people of Iraq.
As we stated in the Azores, we plan to seek the adoption of new United Nations Security Council resolutions that would affirm Iraq's territorial integrity, ensure rapid delivery of humanitarian relief, and endorse an appropriate post-conflict administration for Iraq.
We welcome the appointment by the United Nations Secretary General of a Special Adviser for Iraq to work with the people of Iraq and coalition representatives.

Israel has no better friend than the US government, and more importantly the American people. I suggest that everyone give this process a bit more time to develop before condeming it. JMO.
I suggest you learn a little modern middle east history (1900-current) before defending it.

It took 9/11 for Americans to start even facing the Islamist problem. Look at how many problems it has caused us to go into only two of the terror sponsering Middle East countrys. We cannot fight them all at this time.
Half of our Allies are not even with us anymore. Things are only going to get worse for both Americans and Israelis before it get any better. It sucks but we are walking a fine diplomatic line.
Bin Ladens Fatwa says clearly it is a war against Jews and Crusaders (Americans). All the other Islamist say the same thing about Jews and Americans. So were in this together.
To: American in Israel
Why don't we just declare the terrorists, terrorists and be done with it? With that kind of honesty, you'll have a difficult time getting hired by the U.S. State Department!

The holocaust never happened. I have not seen any evidence.Try going to the "Labor camps". They are still there, along with the mounds of glasses, bones, ashes, and ovens.
I do not believe you have a brain, I have never seen the evidence.

"Not a single nation on Earth recognizes any Israeli right to annex the West Bank or Gaza."World opinion carries weight, but often needs to be ignored. I note that much of world opinion seems to favor keeping Saddam in power.

We, if you mean americans, are not in a position to declar war on Arafat.
The peaceniks in Israel should have destroyed him and his Hamas fiends years ago.
The price for not doing so is obvious.
Israel had the courage to take out the Iraqi nuclear facility so I can't imagine why they ever thought they could live side by side with a murdering ba$tard like Arafat.
Listening to the likes of Jimmy Carter and Rabin was a fatal error.

there will not be any peace with these terrorist scum, both Blair and Bush are wrong and will be proved wrong on this issue big time! How many have to die for them to open their eyes to truth. Yes you are correct.
We need to declare war on Palestine, not kiss up to it.

"but they were resettled in Israel and the west without US and UN funds."
Good point. And the Israelis did not force them to live in camps for 50 years in hopes of fanning hatred and building propaganda, as the Arabs have done with the "Palestinians."

You are correct. This war on terror is going to be a long war against many fronts.
Half of our allies are not with us because they refuse to see the danger (even within their own borders). But this will change. We either need to defeat the terrorists or we will be defeated by them.
I understand the fine diplomatic line we walk. But, we must make sure that we don't sacrifice anyone while we walk it.
America is targeted only because America is the vanguard of the West. Since America does not plan to be anything less, we will be the number one target. My point is that America is not hated because of our support of Israel. That is the pre-text. Go past the fatwas into the deeper writings, and you will see that Israel is hated because of America. Israel and America both represent this culture that has oppressed Islam... Israel is an outpost of the West (a cancer) on holy Arab territory.
We are in this together. I couldn't agree more. I think most of the posts (at least mine) have dealt with Madrid and Oslo...
9/11 changed everything...

Now you have shown your true colors. So your telling me not one American ever helped Israel or JEWS, and not one American soldier died while defeating German?
If you want to go down your pathetic road, let's do it. The holocaust never happened. I have not seen any evidence.
Now you show YOUR true colors. IGNORANCE. Roosevelt
Heres one source, http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/holocaust/peopleevents/pandeAMEX97.html there are MANY others, this is well documented from Morgenthaus notes and FOIAed documents:
"Soon after the Second World War ended, Morgenthau, Jr. would recall what he called "those terrible eighteen months" in Washington, when "the Nazis were planning to exterminate all the Jews of Europe." He went on to write, "officials dodged their grim responsibility, procrastinated when concrete rescue schemes were placed before them, and even suppressed information about atrocities."terrible 18 months Morgenthau was referring to was the period between the summer of 1942, when the State Department first heard of Hitler's plan to murder Europe's Jews, and January of 1944, when President Roosevelt set up the War Refugee Board, an institution that ultimately saved as many as 200,000 Jewish lives. Although, as secretary of the treasury, Morgenthau had few official opportunities to deal with the rescue efforts, a series of events starting in mid-1943 meant that Morgenthau and his staff at the Treasury played a key role in Roosevelt's decision to set up an agency independent of the State Department that would be charged with rescuing Europe's Jews."
I won't even touch your last sentence, as I'm sure it's just crassness to make some kind of point.
