Roeper has been a gem ....In his appearance on Jay Leno after the Oscars he said that everyone stood up to applaud Roman Polanski's win because they were "looking for subpoenas under their seats."
On the other hand, Ebert expressed the wish that Roger Moore would win an Oscar because he wanted to hear his anti-war rant.
Ebert will soon retire, and Roeper will become the permier movie critic ....let's hope sooner rather than later.

When push comes to shove, though, Roeper will always end up kissing Hollywood ass. Read him for the next week or so and he'll write a column to "make up" for this one.

Sure hope when this war has been won that America doesn't forget what this bunch of line readers did.
Received a call from Hollywood last night asking to participate in a survey. Said yes, first question was "had I been to a local theater in last two month?"
Answer: NO.
Next question was there anyone in household that had.
Answer: Children at college might have gone.
Then told her that I would not be supporting the liberal socialist agenda by paying money to see their trash.
Got a quick "thank-you" good-by.

Here they are;
THE PETITON LETTER TO: President Bush SUBJECT: Artists Say Win Without War
War talk in Washington is alarming and unnecessary. We are patriotic Americans who share the belief that Saddam Hussein cannot be allowed to possess weapons of mass destruction. We support rigorous UN weapons inspections to assure Iraq's effective disarmament. However, a pre-emptive military invasion of Iraq will harm American national interests . Such a war will increase human suffering, arouse animosity toward our country, increase the likelihood of terrorist attacks, damage the economy, and undermine our moral standing in the world. It will make us less, not more, secure. We reject the doctrine--a reversal of long-held American tradition--that our country, alone, has the right to launch first-strike attacks. The valid U.S. and UN objective of disarming Saddam Hussein can be achieved through legal diplomatic means. There is no need for war. Let us instead devote our resources to improving the security and well-being of people here at home and around the world. Signed,
Artists for Winning Without War Mike Farrell, Co-Chair Robert Greenwald, Co-Chair Gillian Anderson Edward Asner Rene Auberjonois David Bale Kim Basinger Ed Begley, Jr. Theo Bikel Barbara Bosson Jackson Browne Peter Buck (REM) Diahann Carroll Eugene J. Never forget how these so called "patriotic Americans" would leave the children and innocent of Iraq to be tortured, butcheres and murdered under the tyranny of Saddam Hussein. How sad.

Richard Roeper is the other half of the Hollywood movie review show Ebert&Roeper . He's the conservative to the liberal (Yes, they both write for the same newspaper) Roger Ebert. So if you ever watch the show, remember the guy who wrote this fine op-ed. Since he knows what's he talking about, you can trust his views as which movies are watchable and which go in the trashcan.

When also will the left who are so concerned about Sept 11th hold Bill Clinton and Al Gore accountable for their appeasment of terrorists in their 8 year administration that certainly contributed to the attack on our country?
