Good Morning.

This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.

It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.

Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help!

To all who helped this get started and keep it running, thank you!

Special thanks to Null and Void for keeping these threads running on the weekends, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, Ragtime Cowgirl for her Exclusive Live Transcription Service™, Fledermaus for his 15 minutes of fame, and, of course, Belly Girl...

It's a bit too dirty to be Hitlery's Senate office :-)

Great job again, Reg.

That is great!! When my dad was in the Marines he met a bunch of Aussie military men (I don't remember the whole story of how) and said they were the roughest, toughest bunch of guys he had met. Friendly as all get out, could drink anyone under the table, but you just KNEW not to mess with them!

However there is another more... puzzling... aspect to the lack of news, considering the Australians are the only group to invite the Al-Jazeera TV channel to embed journalists with them.

A recently broadcast signal from a Australian SAS unit 'somewhere in Iraq' made mention that they had run out of embedded journalists and could they send a couple more out, preferably less stringy ones this time. It is unclear what the significance of that last remark was.

The lads want a plump one or a lean one?

I believe it, in the near future we will hear the real truth about a SAM sight, sniper or whatever Iraq troops were deploying at the hotel firing at our tanks.

Its 5:30 AM, its WAY too quiet. gonna be a humdinger of a day in a few hours, my prediction is there will be a massive firefight at the Palestine and our troops will occupy it, BB knows it and has probably posted minders at the cameras killing the sound and soon all the video. Hopefully Kelly at Fox will come up and set up a live video feed, in looking at most recent events its the status symbols like the hotels that will be of the most interests to both sides. Be pepared to see and hear lots of conflicting reports, civilians or reporters may get hurt today if in close proximity to the enemy, they are not neccesary a sacred shield as we have seen before.

I'm starting to think he's on to us. We've had no sound since he finished (finally!).

I thought they switched to the nightvision/no-sound view before he actually finished.

I really think someone at ABC realized what was going on and flipped the switch.

We should start sending them innocent e-mails...

"Can someone check the Baghdad cam? I think something might be wrong with the sound."

Don't mention that we just want to make fun of Chicken Little some more!

Journalist whiner on MSN right now saying there were warnings of danger of being in baghdad but that doesn't mean the Pentagon should have ignored international protocol blah blah blah...wahhhh!

Sound more like, "they told us we might get hurt, but we didn't think we actually had to believe them, and darn it, they fired on a place we were at!" wahhh wahhh

Typical lib look to him. You can spot them a mile away it seems

Darn, reports saying Saddam survived that bombing... Alive, dead; it don't matter. What is he leading, anyway?

What matters is the people in that building that we killed. I hope Saddam was along with them.

Richard Engle (AKA Pretty Chicken) is such a useless tool. On the other hand he doesn't swear like Bazookas Lara Logan does. They are both pretty entertaining. I've never caught Baghdad Peter Arnett on the Bagcam though.

Too bad, I could have a hat trick of a**holes.
