I don't understand why, if Saddam has BILLIONS to build underground complexes hundreds of yards underground with tens of miles of interconnecting tunnels, how is it that he is "seen" entering a "residence" for a meeting. Doesn't pass the smell test IMO.

I hate to burst everyones' bubbles, but my guess is that we got an "excellent tip" that cause us to blow up a residential area and inflict a good number of civilian casualties. Flame suit on.

The bunker buster is a 5000 pound bomb. I was at Nellis when they tested it about 48 hours before dropping the real things on the underground command/control center in Baghdad during the previous Gulf War. They dropped the full package with no fusing, so they could see how deep it penetrated into the desert floor. A little over 180 feet - they left it there, rather than dig it up. It's made out of a howitzer barrel, and loaded with explosive.
