(AP) Elizabeth Smart's family has hired a Los Angeles entertainment attorney to help them screen movie and book proposals about Elizabeth's abduction and remarkable return.

Kelly Crabb, who reportedly has negotiated contracts for Paul McCartney, Dave Matthews and Muhammad Ali, was hired a week ago, said Chris Thomas, the family's spokesman.

According to his firm's Web site, Crabb's areas of practice include motion picture, television and other programming production and financing; composer agreements, personal appearances and motion picture distribution.

"These kind of contracts are very specialized," Thomas said.

Crabb received bachelor's and master's degrees from Brigham Young University before earning a law degree from Columbia University in 1984. He also worked for the Salt Lake Organizing Committee.

Elizabeth, now 15, was abducted from her bedroom on the night of June 5. On March 12, she was found in a Salt Lake suburb with her alleged kidnappers.

"It's a beautiful story" Elizabeth's uncle

Can you believe that he stated this about a week after her disappearance

Oh, yes, didn't you know the Bush administration is planning "regime change" in the LDS Church as soon as we're done with Saddam?

>>Why not shut up, then, and stop reminding us of your foolishness?<<

Sheesh..rangerairborne expressed an opinion. Imho, which I recognize is unsolicited, (and I mean not to offend), but it seems harsh to demand a poster shut-up when we disagree with them.

I wonder, too, what it is about this topic that has everyone's emotions running so high and everyone
insulting each other because of opposing opinions.

regards,
risa

Yeah, that's the same logic people like you used when the false story came out in the Enquirer about the Smart family's "homosexual call-boy racket."

Of course, that was all lies as well, but people like you don't care. You just shrug and go on to the next outrageous accusation.

I'd insert the "HYSBYWY" allegory here, but last time I used it I got suspended, so I won't. The Dirty Dozen are lurking.

In defense of Utah Girl, I can say that she has not been overly defensive on these Smart threads.

I’ve been called names for merely posting articles about Elizabeth Smart, but Utah Girl has always been one of the few voices of reason on these threads.

She asks hard questions when a post can be misinterpreted, but she does not lower herself to name calling or flame wars.

I've heard it said before, I've challenged those to come up with a link, and no one has been able to do so, citing "other threads" where they read it.

My suspicion is that Tom Smart may have at one time said it was a "beauiful story" the way everyone has been supported, and pitched in to help find Elizabeth. And that remark was taken out of context and spun by folks on FR who cannot STAND the truth that bad things happen to good people, and want to make something sordid and evil out of the actions of a good, solid and god-fearing family.

I disagree with the statements of opinion from Nicholas di Genova. In his opinion, the U.S. military should suffer "a million Mogadishus."

I think he should SHUT UP.

Any further questions?

They would be negligent not to try to make the impression favorable.</>

I'd much rather see a film about the episode tell the truth than see one trying to make a "favorable impression." One made by objective interests will be a lot more interesting than one concocted by the Smarts.

Tell you what. Just pay real close attention to what happens with the soon to be written books and filmed movies. And pay attention to how the mormon church uses those things.
