Palestinian, Jordanian gunmen fighting in Baghdad

By CAROLINE GLICK

Baghdad

The US Army's 3rd infantry division, 2-7 Mechanized Infantry Brigade, is involved in a fierce battle with Palestinian and Jordanian gunmen in the industrial area of southern Baghdad.

The people shooting at US forces are using coordinated attacks using RPG's, suicide trucks, artillery, and sniper fire.

Two journalists and two military personnel were killed in the coordinated attack by the Palestinian and Jordanian fighters.

Military sources are saying that they know from prisoners of war that the Palestinian and Jordanian fighters are attempting to reorganize Iraqi resistance in Baghdad.

The military sources called the gunmen "thugs".

There are some US casualties, but many more enemy casualties.

Overstatement.

No battle with "Palestinians" can possibly be "fierce"-unless they're fighting little girls or Jewish grandmothers.

About 60% of the population of Jordan is Palestinian.

Hamas is especially sympathetic to Saddam--but Yasser's taken plenty of dough from Saddam as well.

It's too bad they didn't send more "fighters" to Iraq. It'd solve a lot of problems for Israel.

I don't appreciate both of you slamming the Catholic Church.

How would you feel if I had posted these posts with
Church of God old maids,
or fundamentalist ministers?

I count two friends in the MidEast:

Israel and Kuwait.

A free Iraq will be #3. The UAE, Qatar, Jordan, and Bahrain are countries we can work with - and are of little concern at the present.

"is involved in a fierce battle with Palestinian and Jordanian gunmen".....

Very redundant.

The Jerusalem Post is not a reliable source in these matters. IMHO

They have their own agenda...

Once I hear another source back this up I will believe it!

Great News!

These Islamokazi thugs will find out that fighting American Soldiers in combat is lethal and non rewarding.

Unlike the innocent women and children in Israel, our troopers shoot back and kill these vermin with two legs.

Bring them on! That way the IDY and our Spec Ops don't have to hunt them down like the rabid jackals they are.

"Come on in boys, Allah has something for you!"

Let the news go out throughout the Arab world that they are beating us down in Baghdad - encourage all the pi$$ ant terrorist types to come and get it (er, I mean come and get in on the action).

The 3ID has become a travel agent for Muslims wanting to reach paradise.

LOL! I nominate this for the quote of the Day!

Every time they show a map of the whole Middle East on TV and I see the hair width location that is all of Israel, I again realize how much the Jews are hated. There is no other reason that such a sliver of land is the constant focus of enmity.

I am quite enamored with the idea of everyone's extremists coming to Iraq to fight us. It would be a great way to eliminate future potential dangers we may face elsewhere in our war on terrorism. If they are motivated enough to travel to Iraq to attack us it is safe to assume they would have attacked us if we came to their country. Amazing they would come to where we have all our equipment. This makes it pretty much a "turkey shoot".

You may want to do some searching.

There have been previous cable media reports that about half of the fedayeen are non-Iraqis. They've found passports from Syria (and Syria is giving out passports to anyone, no questions asked), Jordan, Egypt, Sudan and Yemen. They'e also found a large terrorist training center at Salman Pak, described as an "international" terrorist training center. Qusay Hussein has been sending buses to the borders of Iraq (the one I saw was from Syria) to pick up these future suicides.

If Palestinians are fighting on behalf of Saddam Hussein, then they must face the consequences.

No Palestinian State, and an American repuditation of UN Resolution 242 would be an excellent start, IMHO.

Only if the Palestinian Authority endorsed their mission, which I doubt.

Agreed. I'm willing to cut King Abdullah a little slack on that. In fact, we're doing him a favor by ridding him of the extremists.

But the Palestinians and those who have bankrolled the PLO MUST pay a price for backing Saddam.

Ezekiel 25:17

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish, and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and goodwill, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down on thee with great vengence and furious anger, those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers, and you will know my name is The Lord when I lay my vengence upon thee.

I believe they can't send them in fast enough,
I am betting that W is thinking can we slow down winning this war
get rid of few hundred terrorist quickly and with out having to go directly into these other countries,
Gee Syria thanks for making our job that much easier....
LOL

I know our troops are in danger, but I bet it is alot less than going directly into Syria,
less bad press as well......
