When you make up a list of high-priority time-critical items,
there are things that need to move in both directions.
But it's more likely something inbound than outbound, such
as portable navaids for future arrivals, or a temporary TV
transmitter for the new DesertFOX channel.
I wonder if that '130 was spraying IR countermeasures on
final approach. There must still be copious anti-air
hazards in the area.

of course ... but that doesn't 'splain or rationalize sending an empty plane in one direction. Since it's a C-130, I can imagine that it came with a lot of equipment ...
Since the 4th ID is on it's way and slated for Bagdad, I am wondering if the airport is the fastest way to get them and their equipment up there ... hate to see another long march from Kuwait.

I was thinking the C-130 maybe had a chow-wagon to cook some hot meals for the soldiers. I know MREs are a lot better than they used to be, but a nice big steak would make a lot of them pretty happy campers.
