Unknown Hero Aided in Rescue of POW Jessica Lynch

BOCA RATON, Fla., April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Florida businessman Jonathan Larkin of Busy Body Gyms To Go has offered a $10,000 trust fund to be set up in the name of the Iraqi man named "Mohammed" whose last name has not been released for security purposes. Mohammed walked miles to give word to US- directed coalition troops as to the whereabouts of Pfc. Jessica Lynch. Lynch was rescued from the hospital in Nasiriyah where Mohammed's wife was a nurse. "Mohammed saw the mistreatment of Jessica and did not view her as an American, but as a fellow human. His courage is irreproachable and his actions as a world role model show others how precious human life is and what is important. I wish I could shake the hand of a man who willingly risked his life for another person and put aside the political, religious and economic differences so fervent in today's global community. Not only is Mohammed an Iraqi hero, and a hero for America, but more importantly, he is a hero of the world and a humanitarian role model that others should emulate," says Larkin.

Mohammed first saw Lynch and recognized the inhumane treatment bestowed upon her by his fellow countrymen. Thereafter he made several excursions between the hospital and the American forces. He drew diagrams and escape routes that were used to rescue Lynch. As quoted by the Washington Post, Mohammed said, "A person is a human being regardless of nationality. Believe me, I love Americans."

Mohammed, his wife and daughter are currently under the protection of the US Coalition forces. Mohammed wants to visit America. In the interim Larkin has ten thousand dollars and would be appreciative of assistance from Washington DC to transfer the funds.

Larkin encourages other Americans to donate to Mohammed and the many unsung heroes around the world who should be put on a pedestal for others to emulate under any circumstances.

He and his family deserve this. And I'm sure there will be alot more. Did you see him this morning on FNC? He looked really nice. And I loved what he said.

That's one Mohammed even a Jew can like. Bring him to the USA, he can sit next to PFC Lynch in the victory parade!

But of course, we American's are just evil-doers. Over there to steal Iraq and kill the people.

Oh my. You didn't see it? I missed the very beginning but I did catch the end. He asked if he could say one more thing, then he went on to give the Arab world hell. Saying that they need to stop this anti-war bullshit (my words). That they need to look at it from the Iraqi people's perspective. And regarding the civilians that are being killed, he said that the regime has killed Muslems every single day. It was great!

I saw that interview. It was a former Iraqi soldier during the Gulf War who escaped to Turkey and ended up in the United States where he became a citizen. He now want to join the Marines. He was not the man who saved Jessica.

I'm afraid I disagree with the starting of a fund for this brave man.Mr Larkin has a right to give his money to anyone,as do we.

My only problem is with the whole over the top publicity with this rescue. It has only caught the eye of the media and Hollywood because she is a cute little female.

There will be many heroes coming out ot this war, military and civilian alike, and are we going to collect for them all? I doubt it;most acts of heroism won't even make the news.

A wonderful thing took place last week, but let's keep in proper perspective.

Not all heros are military. This is an exceptional offer of a true patriot

I agree that there are hundreds of faceless heros, but this was the 1st POW rescue since WWII. It would still be a big deal if she wasn't a prom queen.
