[history]
Earlier today, I ordered America's Armed Forces to strike military and security targets in Iraq. They are joined by British forces. Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical, and biological programs, and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors. Their purpose is to protect the national interest of the United States and, indeed, the interest of people throughout the Middle East and around the world. Saddam Hussein must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas, or biological weapons.

"Third, in halting our air strikes in November, I gave Saddam a chance, not a license"...
Hypocrisy alert to the UN, Daschle, Kerry, Chirac, Putin, Schroeder et al. Oh and I believe to the man who gave this speech.
Good thing for us someone actually DID something about it. President George W Bush & Hon. PM Tony Blair

My point was to highlight his/their primary objective and compare it to their objections today.

The old definition of "chutzvah" in Yiddish dictionaries used to involve the example of the kid who murders his parents and then demands leniency for being an orphan. In future time the example used should be the president who starts a war the day prior to being impeached and then has some flunkie like Dickless Gephardt try to keep his face straight while claiming that it's unpatriotic to start an impeachment with a war in progress.

Actually one of the better speeches Clinton made, too bad he seemed to forgot what he once knew.

POP!
"Hillary, Hillary, I just had that recurring nightmare where I acted presidential instead of the way you made me do it," Bill cried as he ran toward Hillary's bedroom!

"Saddam Hussein must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas, or biological weapons. " R.W Apple: "In a brilliant move, President Clinton ordered the commencement of an operational pause against Saddam Hussein today. Several soon-to-be retired military officers lauded him for containing Hussein "on the cheap"... "

The difference between the George W. Bush ADMINISTRATION (not regime, Sen. Kerry) and the William Clinton ADMINISTRATION is the difference between the lightning and the lightning bug.

I had to read this twice before I realized it was Bill Clinton talking. How many times did he invoke God's name during his administration - at least in a positive way.
MAKES ME WANT TO PUKE

I was trying to hide that also, I thought about leaving his name out of the title. I wanted to compare their objectives to todays complaints, it's a total farce!

The hard fact is that so long as Saddam remains in power, he threatens the well-being of his people, the peace of his region, the security of the world. The best way to end that threat once and for all is with the new Iraqi government, a government ready to live in peace with its neighbors, a government that respects the rights of its people. Hmmmmm it only took 1,551 days from this statement for this to come to fruition.
God Bless G.W. Bush

Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% in favor of the present operation. Clinton's dog-wagging episodes on the other hand were invariably contemptible and served no purpose other than averting our media from his scandals for a day or two.

Doesn't this have to do with the incident in that new book coming out, where Clinton was at a golf game and they were ready to take off and bomb Baghdad? Clinton was too wrapped up in hanging with his buddies and they lost their window of opportunity?
