See, I didn't bother watching the Dan Rather interview. Was it the same haggard dude (sans glasses I presume) and for that matter what does Dan Rather have to say about all this?

Could be worse, they could run Christy Lane ads AND the 'exclusive video'!(over and over and over...) Save the Christi Lane commercial for the really hard to break generals. "Footsteps In The Snow" and "I Believe in Angels" should put 'em over the top.
BTW, how the hell did she rope Barry Sadler into hyping her? I wonder if he knew her in country?

Has this been posted yet? Regarding the British and Basra:
"One tactic is to broadcast recorded "tank noises" and fool the Iraqis into believing a military formation is heading their way.
"Speakers mounted on Land Rovers play the sound of Challenger 2 tanks at ear splitting volumes.
"On one occasion, the recording forced three Iraqi mobile artillery units with mortars—hidden behind a concrete hut—into making a retreat. The units were immediately exposed to a barrage of fire from British artillery."

In fact, the Saddam that Dan talked to looked bad, made up, but bad. The jowels were the same. The bags under the eyes were much less pronounced.

it all reminds me of a movie I saw about the torture practices of Hitler. I cannot believe the UN and a lot of the world did not want to help these people! Horrific!As I've posted for months now (but I know not every one has heard): I've known a bit more than a dozen Iraqis in my life. They were all extremely upset about the conditions in Iraq, and hoped for liberation. The last girl I knew was here getting an advanced Physics degree. Her family was hostage: if she didn't do well and return to Iraq, they were to be executed. There was no doubt of the veracity of the threat. Others I know managed to escape with their whole immediate family. The extended family was tortured and killed. The brutality of this regime has been known to all those who would explore a bit and listen. That the world has dealt with this brutality in such a cowardly manner is despicably shameful.
