Stop by Loveland on your way to Longmont. You may not recognize the corner.

Loveland ReportFlags over I-25
Earlier in the day Trteamer and I were on the overpass with a couple of hundred other people all waving flags and supporting our troops. It was awesome!!
The Loveland FReep was great!
People showed up with their 'Support Our Troops' from the Associated Veterans Club in Loveland and flags. The antis were about fifteen minutes late. Two of them got out of their car and looked acroos the street at a sea of red, white and blue. The hesitated, waiting for more of them to show up. They mostly carried signs with the blood for oil theme.
The honking was outstanding as usual. We were treated to the music of the Colorado Patriots Fife and Drum Corps. The Marine Corpes League members got a special trill listening to the Marine Corps Hymn sounded out on the bagpipes.
Here are some pictures of the overpass rally over I-25

The local Marine Corps League. One of their members put this rally on.

This is Dave. He parked at the bottom of the freeway entrance ramp and carried his Grandfather's flag.

Here are some pictures of the Loveland Rally.

Howdy fivetoes!! That was a real hoot today on I-25. I love to wave the flag and my jaw still hurts from all the grinning. There were a lot of familes of the troops there today and they again had their spirits lifted.
Sorry I couldn't make it to the rest of the FReeps but I'm sure the gang had it under control.
So, we had better be getting some plans together for the Victory Parade when our troops come home. Something to think about.
All the Best!
P.S. How are plans coming for the prairie dog fishing tourney? I got my musky rods ready! LOL!

Now, how come I didn't know about this rally? Is this where you usually FReep in Loveland? How far is it from Aurora? I am totally bummed... I really wish I could've been there!! I wish I could've heard the Marine's Hymn on the bagpipe. I'm sure I would've been bawling like a baby. I always cry when I hear that song, but to hear it on a bagpipe? Oh, man, that would just be too much to handle. I bet I wouldn't have been the only one there with tears in their eyes though. I'm happy you and TRteamer had an awesome time, but I have to admit, I'm jealous! Maybe I might be able to make the next one... Hopefully!
You are right on target about a Victory Parade. I've already been thinking about welcoming my husband and his unit home with my new FReeper Family. I picture a whole gang of us with our flags and banners. Hootin' and hollerin', "WELCOME HOME!" and "THANK YOU!". I thought that would be so cool and I just felt you all would definitely help me out on this.
Keep up the good work and thank you very much for the great pics!!

I'll be doing the Ft. Collins/Longmont freep for the next 3 Saturdays. Perhaps we can carpool.

Wonderful report and awesome pictures.
You Colorado Freepers always do such a great job of getting participants. We are doing a little better but not on a consistent basis.
Ping me for more reports and pictures.

The overpass rally was not an official FReep. It was started last week by one Marine who said he was going to stand on the overpass and people could join him. So we did.
This should be encouragement for anyone who wants to have a spontaneous rally for our troops. Pick your corner and do it!

All the flags on the overpass are too cool!
Very impressive! We had a Mini-Rally at Houston's busiest intersection yesterday. The support from the cars was outstanding and we had pedestrians shake our hands and say thanks and several folks let us know of their family members that are serving in Iraq.

http://photos.yahoo.com/dalep61 Longmont Report:
This has chagned form being a little FReep to being a rally . The people have been come out and starting the rally at 11:30am and they go till 3:30 or later. When we got here the rally was going strong and their were a lot of the Longmont Vets here today again , and they did not let the peaceniks have much of the side walks to have their love fest. When the showed up and started to put out the signs for their sheep, one of the vets was taking the signs and putting them in the trash can near by they never saw him do it . When they noticed that they were a few signs short and looked over at the trash can man were they Pissed. Ijust about bust a gut watching this event take place. I went over with mollynme's saddam's fan clubg sign and marked the point where the peaceniks started and others
marked the end. The peace niks are pissed that there are more of us than them now and they show it.
There are photos of this freep also at the ste posted above.

Hello Island Princess,
Yes, this is where we announce our weekly rallies.
If you want to hear the Fife and Drum Corps, they usually play at the Ft. Collins Rally. Please see the first post on this thread for times and places.

The pictures of the flag holding patriots on the bridge are so awesome! I think they should win some sort of prize! If I figure out what kind, I will get back to you! :-)
