Trust me, I know it's coming and that NC is not immune.

But, look again at the article. It's saying that these other states, including NC, are increasingly scrutinizing these laws. One of the first things I heard on local news radio when I moved here (Oct 2001) was that NC had been known (by both illegals, thro the grapevine, and the powers that be) as an easy place to get driver's licenses, but that the state had tightened up the requirements. Not tight enough, IMHO, but it's something.
