Mass Deportation of Muslim Illegal Aliens ruled out
WORLD TRIBUNE ^ | 2/18/03

Tuesday, February 18, 2003

The Bush administration has rejected the prospect of mass deportations of Muslim illegal aliens.

The administration plans to relay this message to American Muslim leaders amid the current nationwide alert for an Al Qaida attack. Hundreds of Muslims have been detained as illegal aliens as part of a crackdown by federal law enforcement authorities, Middle East Newsline reported.

On Tuesday, FBI Director Robert Mueller will meet American Muslim leaders to discuss federal measures against Al Qaida threats. Muslim groups have filed a class action suit against the government, charging that the Immigration and Naturalization Service has arrested Muslims illegally.

Muslim groups said the millions of Muslims in the United States have been the target of a backlash since the Al Qaida suicide attacks on New York and Washington in September 2001. They said at least 15 Muslims and a Sikh have been killed in attacks around the country.

Officials said Mueller plans to discuss the attacks on Muslims as well as policy toward illegal aliens. They said this will include a law passed over the last year that requires citizens from many Arab and Islamic nations to register with the INS. The procedure also includes photographing and fingerprinting.

Muslim groups have expressed concern that the law will result in the detention and deportation of hundreds of thousands of Arab and Islamic immigrants who arrived illegally or whose visas have expired. The Alliance of Iranian Americans, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, the Council on American Islamic Relations, and the National Council of Pakistani Americans have asked a federal court to issue an injunction to prevent the prospect of mass arrests.

But officials said the administration plans to reassure Muslim groups that special procedures enacted over the last year will be limited to those immigrants regarded as security threats.

Our leaders seem to determined to overlook, for the sake of political correctness, the people responsible for 9-11.

IIRC, weren't the hijackers here legally?

<<"Who was it that said 'there is none so blind as those who will not see'?">>

I think that's in the Bible, but I also know that Helen Keller made a similar comment when asked if being blind was the worst thing that could happen to a person. She responded that it was worse to have eyesight and yet still not see.

The whole thing is sickening. Certainly, it is absolutely too late for most of our border states. We in the central states still have a chance to keep the invasion at bay; at the very least, we can remain closer to the America we all long to return to for a little while longer.

"we can remain closer to the America we all long to return to for a little while longer. "

That is false security. These companies that are hiring illegals, at least the Mexican ones, are having them brought in directly to the states where they will be put to work. Arkansas and Iowa have have the fastest growing population of illegals in the country. My job takes me all over this state, and believe me, there are parts of it that feel more like Nogales than America.

Pack them up and give them on a one way ticket to the other country of their choice.

Forget the choice; make that ticket to the tropical paradise resort at Guantanamo Bay.

<<"There are some posters on this site that will have you tarred and feathered for speaking dispargingly of the President, of a Muslim, or of any immigrant.">>

I found out the truth of your statement the hard way! My thoughts about this site have changed a bit from the good old days.

Bush should be ashamed of himself for not closing our borders at noon on 911, then rounding up as many illegals and visa skippers, etc. and deporting them. He should have then ordered that all foreigners who came into our country for a period of time (say, 10 years) previous to 911 be re-examined (with special emphasis on those from enemy countries -- i.e. the Islamic countries, China, North Korea, possibly others). In the meantime, our immigration policy should have been rolled back to....well, I'd prefer the late 50s, but would settle for the beginning of the Carter admin. All this until we got a handle on the problem, but, alas, the window of opportunity is passed.

Our borders are bleeding and those who would do us harm have to be laughing laughing laughing at our utter foolishness in this regard. The border states are all but lost. The tide pushes inland, where we have at least a chance to hold it back for a while.

The so-called security of this country now totally depends on the quick responses of individual citizens standing watch. The actions of Todd Beamer were prophetic.

It's sad to say it out loud, but I believe on some level it is just too late. Rome is burning.

"You no longer have any control over your government...Your government has control over you...With the Patriot Act and the new Homeland Security Agency, we have a done deal..."

"A New World Order...You've heard the Clintons and Bushs rave about it..."

How right you are! So few are looking at the BIG PICTURE.

<<"Someday, illegal Muslim aliens will turn into solid American citizens and register as Republicans.">>

Yeah, right. It's just staggering to me that this is the thinking of our elected officials who are charged with protecting us!! And wasn't this the thinking that got us the amnesty of thousands of Mexicans in the 80s? I believe it was President Reagan who granted it; I'm curious to know if large numbers of those Mexican illegals registered/voted Republican since then.

Sheesh, what do they think we should do, give them all medals?

You have my sympathies; I used to live in Kalifornicate. I escaped by the mercy of God. Never going back. Sounding the warning in my new location. Already thinking about where to move next when this location is overrun.

As usual, nothing will be done about the problem until a group or number of groups organize, publicize and lobby, which is how a nation by the people and for the people works.

What are we going to do today toward presenting a voice of sanity?

<<"I totally disagree with the Prez on this one.">>

I totally disagreed with the Prez on the education bill and the Patriot Act. On the issue of illegals and border control (or the lack thereof), I COMPLETELY UTTERLY EMPHATICALLY and STRONGLY DISAGREE!! If he persists (after all, he was about to grant amnesty befor 911 and we haven't heard anything about that recently, so ya never know), I will not vote for him and I don't make idle threats.

Well, thanks for bursting my little bubble! I don't think in terms of absolute security any more; I think certain pockets of real Americana still exist, for the moment.

Actually, as far as I can discern, yes!

This is what I think know they think:

"These ignorant people have no idea what Allah wants for them. Therefore it is our Holy duty to show them and to guide them to the Glory Of Allah. If they won't listen, it is right and just to kill them if necessary, if they don't repent."

If he renews Clinton's 1994 so-called Assault Weapons ban (which includes a helluva lot more than "assault" weapons), I won't be voting for him either. Unfortunately the renewal comes up a mere two months before the '04 election, so he could very well be in serious pandering mode. I'm still holding out hope that he'll do the right thing, though. ....And I'm writing the NRA and telling them to stay on top of this issue.
