The Latinos have topped that number in just 40 years The "Latinos" are not one race or one culture for that matter. The fact is that over 60% of Latin American immigrants come from Mexico, whose culture was shaped by a mixture of the various Indian cultures mixed in with a bit of the European Spanish and, yes, los norteamericanos. Most Cubans who are here, in contrast, are largely of European cultural heritage, as the blacks and mulattos disproportianately stayed in Cuba. Argentineans are largely of European ancestry, while Dominicans are largely mulatto or black. Of course, none of this stopped the Irish/Italian YOKELS I grew up with from referring to Latin Americans as "Spanish," even if they were obviously Dominicans of African ancestry.

Then why is 'Hispanic' considered a 'race' according to the government? I've always wanted to know the answer to that one...Unless the real reason is to inflate the numbers of a created 'minority' for politically divisive purposes...
BTW, how are those nice 'New Americans' in your neighborhood behaving themselves since the commencement of hostilities?

BTW, how are those nice 'New Americans' in your neighborhood behaving themselves since the commencement of hostilities? For those on this site not in the know, Black Agnes is referring to the large Arab Muslim population that has arrived in my neighborhood over the past 10-15 years. They have been keeping a lower profile than usual, but when I hear them argue in the supermarket or the laundromat (where the ladies like to wash their headgear) the only word I understand is "Boosh" and from the tone of their voice, they are not very happy with "Boosh." A journalist recently went to another part of Brooklyn to interview Arab shopkeepers, who stated that "Bush created Saddam and Osama" and that "the USA reaps what it sows" and all this other BS. Maybe I should ask the two Arab families who just moved into the top floor of the house next door what they think of the conflict. Their eight kids seem nice though (although quite loud).

I thought this article was going to be about Michael Savage.

Just checking.

Okay. I haven't said anything that is not true though, so if you want to discuss futher go ahead. Otherwise, I will leave it at that. I am not pushing a particular agenda, except that when something needs to be pointed out, I will.

I thought the same thing too, but I don't know if I would really put that on Savage. Mike Savage is a bit eccentric but I never get the impression that he's what people say. I happen to agree with him about how liberals say 'white male' is pretty much another word for terrorist, and Europe is the 'axis of evil'.

... I largely agree with the writer of this article. ...unrestrained immigration will overrun all our existing systems.. A system of absorption is needed to slow it down for accommodation of everyone involved.
Limits on the numbers allowed totally, divided up among the nations. What has happened to California will worsen and spread. Are we stupid or what? Over loaded systems collapse.
There is no place for all this money to come from except our pockets; and then we all get to live at near poverty.

So true :(

Don Feder delivered this speech 17 years ago. How relevant is it now?
