Freep Marine Deserter Stephen Funk in San Jose, California

The San Jose Mercury News has indicated that "conscientious objector" Stephen Funk is reporting daily to the Marine Corps Reserve HQ at 901 East Mission Street in San Jose, California, in lieu of a stay in prison.

This is a good Freep opportunity - show up there at the corner of 19th Street and East Mission at lunchtime or at his 4:30 departure time and let Mr. Funk know how we feel with flags and signs:

"I Concientiously Object to Saddam Hussein"
"Freedom is worth fighting for"
...etc...

Since it would have to be during the work day, I wouldn't expect big crowds, but even one or two people showing up there each afternoon as their schedules permit would get the point across.

I heard snippets of this gutless puke yesterday on Rush. It is the typical liberal tripe that we here: "I didn't know what I was doing", "They didn't tell me", "How could I be accountable for something that I didn't agree to", "I'm the victim, I'm the victim", and (the classic) "I did not have ...".

It is simply a lie...just like liberalism. All of this victim mentality crap has to stop.

i read about this pud a couple of days ago. what a crybaby. i had heard he made some remark like "i didn't know i'd have to kill people." let's face it, the dolt joined for the goodies, never thinking he'd actually be deployed. but liberals are so good at making excuses, and mudslinging, so the whole thing doesn't surprise me in the least. he's a disgrace, his family should be ashamed, and he should be flayed. and that's all i have to say about that. :)
