Even so. She should have never had been there.

Any nation that sends women to the front lines should be ashamed.

Women are too valuable to let them be killed by our enemies.

They just don't have the upper body strenght----less than 40% of male strength

Special Edition Victory Series Production

The rescue of POW Private First Class Jessica Lynch has captured the attention of our nation.
This Victory Series submission is dedicated to her.

American POW Leaves Iraq After Rescue
inspiring details of the Private First Class Jessica Lynch story

By DOUG MELLGREN, Associated Press Writer

Excerpted to details about Private First Class Jessica Lynch, future recipient of the Purple Heart and possibly other medals as well.

NASIRIYAH, Iraq - An American flag folded across her chest, Pfc. Jessica Lynch left Iraq on a stretcher Wednesday April 2, 2003, after U.S. commandos, acting on a CIA tip, rescued the prisoner of war.

Lynch, a 19-year-old Army supply clerk, arrived at a U.S. air base in southwestern Germany on a C-17 transport plane late Wednesday for treatment at a U.S. military medical center.

"She's real spirited, she hasn't eaten in eight days and she's hungry," her father, Greg Lynch, said. "She wants some food."

U.S. officials in Kuwait said earlier she had two broken legs, a broken arm and at least one gunshot wound (see below for discrepancy).

Lynch was captured by the Iraqis more than a week ago after her maintenance unit made a wrong turn and was ambushed in Nasiriyah.

Following an intelligence tip about Lynch's whereabouts, U.S. special operations forces made their way behind Iraqi lines and seized Lynch from the Saddam Hospital under cover of darkness late Tuesday, American officials said.

The 507th was attacked March 23 during some of the earliest fighting in Nasiriyah, where Saddam's Fedayeen loyalists and other Iraqi fighters are said to have dressed as civilians and ambushed Americans.

Lynch fought fiercely and shot several enemy soldiers during the ambush. She fired her weapon after she had several gunshot wounds (see above for discrepancy) and kept firing until she ran out of ammunition, The Washington Post reported in Thursday's editions.

She watched several soldiers in her unit die and was stabbed when Iraqi forces closed in on her position, The Post quoted U.S. officials as saying.

An Iraqi pharmacist who works at Saddam Hospital told Britain's Sky television that he treated Lynch for leg injuries but that she was otherwise healthy. But he added, "every day I saw her crying about wanting to go home."

The pharmacist, who gave his name only as Imad, said Lynch knew the U.S. troops were on the other side of the Euphrates River and "she kept wondering if the American Army were coming to save her."

Kudos to Private First Class Jessica Lynch, for her courage under fire.

Home grown, from the heartland of the United States!

A couple of random thoughts on this brave young soldier:

1) To all those who say women should not be in combat I say neener, neener, neener.

2) The people of Palestine, WVA and all of us in rural America are very proud of PFC Lynch and know that her courage was, in part, instilled by good old-fashioned American values. I dare say that any of her male or female classmates at Palestine High would have tried to shoot their way to safety just as PFC Lynch. Urban costal elites just don't have the same fiber as those raised in the country.

What is a hero?

Seriously, isn't a hero an ordinary person that overcomes extraordinary events they are thrust into?

She didn't go off on her own to hunt down an Iraqi general or Saddam insane?

No, She was simply driving a water truck as part of a convoy when someone took the wrong fork in the road and the shat hit the fan.

{sarcasm}Fighting for her life doesn't make her a hero,
being in the wrong place at the wrong time doesn't make her a hero,
Being shot, stabbed, starved, having three out of four of your limbs broken during torture doesn't make you a hero,

Heros are the guys that train for years to pull off the kind of rescues she benefitted from,
Men that could kill in their sleep,
Yeah she's not a hero,
She a victim of her sex
and always will be{/sarcasm}

{super mega sarcasm}she just a little girl who has no place in the army,
Just like Todd Beemer was just a passenger on Flight 93 {/super mega sarcasm}

I have no doubt that the story of her shooting Iraqis and fighting to the end is true -- but HOW do they know that? Everyone with her was either killed or captured.

"Pfc. Jessica Lynch, rescued Tuesday from an Iraqi hospital, fought fiercely and shot several enemy soldiers after Iraqi forces ambushed the Army's 507th Ordnance Maintenance Company, firing her weapon until she ran out of ammunition, U.S. officials said yesterday."

I've always believed that women who enter the military, having spent their lives as a "little sister" to a "big brother(s)" are the most combat ready soldiers on the face of the earth.......and I just bet Jessica Lynch has a big brother(s)!!!

I won't repeat what I said about 19 year old girls in combat. She can back me up anytime, give her a promotion, get her to the White House whatever. American women, nothing like 'em on earth. Hoo Rah!

The officer said that Special Operations forces found what looked like a "prototype" Iraqi torture chamber in the hospital's basement, with batteries and metal prods.

Sounds like a "dual-use" facility, no?

Jessica Lynch, 19, Female
Nicholas De Genova, 35, Male
Pfc. United States Army's 507th Maintenance Co. Barely out of High School

Columbia University. 17 years out of High School. Professor of Anthropology.

Risked her life so that others may live in freedom and to insure that Professor De Genova does not get a bio bomb up his ass.

Risked his lunch hour to say in public that he wished Jessica would die, and that she has a treacherous lack of prospects for a decent life.

Dishonored by Columbia University
Honored by Columbia University.
...........he still has a job.

Women In Combat - No Women In Combat,
Hero - Not A Hero,
M-16 - 9mm,
WHO CARES!

An AMERICAN teenage girl from a rear echelon unit (whose only combat training was probably in basic)goes toe-to-toe with Iraqi troops, kills several before being captured. Call her what you want, but this shows the world how "weak" and "soft" American youth are! Her story gives me faith in the future of this country and erases the images of a 1000 braindead protesters her age in my mind!

Let the Republican Guard or any other enemy of this country take notice: Push us against the wall and see what you get! If this is what those "in the rear with the gear" give you, wait until you meet our front line folks. Give em hell tigers!!!
