Fox news video shows her stretcher being escorted onto the ambulance by at least 15 soldiers...kudos for taking care of their own, as always.

...I wonder how long it will take some nitwit to go of on a "Why the hell do they put girls on the front line" rant... It's a thread here in FreeperVille, put up the day she was categorized as 'missing'.

"But I feel sad for the future POWs, MIA, KIAs that will get ZERO coverage as casualties mount."
not if we freepers can help it....
we do need to somehow show our appreciation for all of our fallen, injured, and missing soldiers......just don't how to do that yet....

Could be anything...repair parts, munitions, or whatever is needed. OTOH, it could just be part of its mission on a run back to CONUS to pick up something else.
Normally, they would evac patients on a jet that has been rigged to for that job. C-130 takes too long and besides, they're needed in theater for trash hauling.

What heavy cargo are we transporting from Germany to Iraq? Gee, it's only the largest US airbase in Europe. Do you have some special insight into what is moving through each base?
Even if nothing is moving through Ramstein, does every flight going back to the States need to be non-stop? I think not! Esp. if they need to do a crew change.

The ONLY reason I bring it up is that I saw that there was an ongoing transport of personnel, artillery, mechanized assets and Abrams from Kuwait City to a north Iraqi airport yesterday using C-17s and C-130s. I love Jessica, but we could have put her on a Gulfstream. Those Globarstars can move a M1A1 from Kuwait to the doorstep of Saddam's gonads, and that seems like a better use for a short takeoff/landing specialized behemoth.
We shouldn't be shipping stuff from Germany on a C-17, we can send it via C-5 or just put it one of the 38 FRIGGING freighters the 4th ID required for their entourage.

Another note to Rummy for the transformation. You guys wipe your asses with our tax money.

C-17 also was designed for takeoff and landing on bare base airfields. Short takeoff aircraft.

Seriously ... a C-17????? Probably returning empty to Germany to pick up a few express shipments, if you know what I mean.
To: ArneFufkin
C-5 is larger than a C-17 and costs more to operate.

Did you guys ever stop to think, that there may have been another 11 KIA's on board?
And who knows what else?

Reuters headline: "Jessica Lynch completes a 5 mile jog on arrival at US military hospital for routine checkup and thanks Iraqi captors for her good treatment"

I'll second that...no place for the ladies..

Yeah, and we can't use it to move men and machinery into fighting position on short Iraqi airfields. We can use the C-17 for that. Get it?

Hey, I'm waiting for the movie--it's a natural. I just hope they don't cast some Hollywood bimbo in the part of Jessica!!

Sorry, you're not going to sell me on this one.
If we have vital supplies, munitions or whatever else necessary for the Iraqi campaign sitting in a German airbase, well that's pretty stupid and I don't believe the commanders are stupid, I think somebody doesn't give a fluck about resources.
The C-17 should be used to move our stuff from Kuwait City to the 5 or 6 airfields we now control in the G-D warzone. They cost a LOT of money, because they are super big and are super maneuverable and don't need super big runways. Just like in war. OK?

The look on her face is truly heartbreaking. Flashback to the face of an injured lady from the USS Cole.......
