I thoroughly agree with Rep. Shadegg's proposed Act, to compel Congress to state the constitutional authority for any law that it passes. But the possibility that Congress will ever engage in "truth in packaging" is slim, nil, zilch and nada.

The best we can hope for is to get more judges, and Justices, who understand and will enforce the Constitution. But for now, that is at best a 50-50 shot.

Can we ask for more compelling evidence of Congress's contempt for our Constitution, or do you think our congressmen are simply reflecting the constitutional contempt of the people

A combination of both, with the "contempt of the people" weighing far more heavily. I wouldn't call it "contempt," however. I think the better term is "ignorance."

We need to stop putting the cart before the horse. The people must know and want the Constitution to be the final word before any reversal of unconstitutional mandates can be remotely possible.
