' I like Sean Hannity's quote, he just said......."It took Janet Reno a month to get to the Davidian compound!" Yet we're in Baghdad in less than that! "
Did you hear former Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleberger say that he was approached by the editorial staff at the New York Times last week, to write an op ed piece. But,the New York Times told him-he could only write a piece trashing the President!!Eagleberger refused. The media is becoming as desperate as Saddam.

BBC version:(^;
Battle of Agincourt (1415) -- "This is London calling. Stung by the deaths of 14 British soldiers, while only inflicting 15,000 deaths on the elite French fusiliers, the armed forces of England, led by the inexperienced King Henry V, have suffered a serious setback in the Hundred Years War. The French soldiers have proven to be much more resilient in battle than King Henry's top military advisor, Sir John Falstaff, originally thought. The British public is becoming increasingly impatient with the slow pace of the Hundred Years War, which now seems destined to last well into its 101st year."

Yes, they did. I wish I had taped it! This all seems rather petty after hearing about the Blackhawk, but I taped the hit piece on fox by msnbc and looked at it again. It was as bad and desperate as it sounded the first time.
Olberman said, since fox was trying to get geralod back in, for a network that wraps itself in the flag, how much more "unpatriotic" can you get. And he said that Fox needs some "Adult Supervision". Real rich coming from them.
Handley said a couple wild things. He said all Arnett did was talk a little "smack". repeated it twice.
He also said that with basically what Geraldo drew in the sand, that an Iraqi could take a Misubishi with a 50 caliber on the back, and they could follow that route Geraldo drew and attack us and uk forces. ummm.. Ok
Also Handley called for an investgation at the pentagon to find out why it took so long to get him out of Iraq.
The funniest part was when Handley said that Fox was basically "Preaching to the Congregation". And that they were not getting much "outside" viewership coming in. Even Olberman wasn't stupid enough to respond to this.

Daughter Lisa just told me.."did you hear they captured Saddam's son? Now all they have to do is Bag Dad!" You need to pull your daughter aside immediately and explain to her the negative social ramifications of making bad puns like that. Tell her that if she keeps it up, she'll become known as the Thief of Bad Gags.

They didn't care about the subject, just that he would write something critical of the administration! Geeze. Shaking my head in "all too real" belief.

I agree wholeheartedly.
Here's what I was getting at. I've been gone a lot of the day. I finally got a chance to check on the news. As had become my habit for the first 10 or 11 days, I turned to this thread to see if there were significant developments and how they're being reported.
After spending some time reviewing the thread, I didn't see much on-topic discussion. Don't mean to be a spoilsport. It was just disappointing, that's all.
(On a lighthearted note, I love the dog barking in Baghdad!)

Sean was quoting Rush, who said:
"We are 18 miles outside of Baghdad after 12 days. In comparison, it took Janet Reno and the Clinton administration 51 days to take the Branch Davidian compound in Waco."

I wish I knew more about the Blackhawk. All the cable shows are either yakking to guests or rerunning stories.
Hang on--Centcom says it was "a lucky shot." It was a command & control copter, hovering over a battlefield relaying info back, possibly transporting troops. The environment was "permissive," the rescue was hairy, but successful...some pockets of resistance from the Medina division, were seeking out & destroying small units when it was shot down, suspect machine guns, poss. RPG, might have hit hydraulic line, rear rotor, David Schuster, MSNBC.
To: Lauratealeaf
they aren't doing the marine any favors by showing him getting lavish treatment with massages etc given that some of the soldiers from his camp have been killed.
I am just waiting for the backlash. Surprised it hasn't started.

Lord, pushing for the UN on Hannity and Coombs.
