I hope the longtime good that comes out of this is that women do not belong near the front lines. A man could carry a 200 hundred pounder out but she couldn't. Every soldier deserves every advantage.

CNN gets my vote for worst embed with a major network. Brian Chilcote, embedded with the 101st Airborne is nearly incoherent. I can't believe CNN hired this dolt. He must connections, probably a relative of Ted Turner.

You are correct. Or to arrange safe passage to another thug country for desperate Iraqis...all for a little cash in his off-shore account.
Jess Jackson is not simply looking for attention. He is a CRIMINAL who extorts money from organizations and businesses, and who has made himself untouchable by glomming onto the legacy of Dr. King.
However, I don't think he can pal around with Saddam's henchman and remain untainted. Someone is finally going to ask questions.
To: mwl1
mwl1, about your campaign to hold the press-left accountable...it would be rather easy to have, say, Congress formally ask for an apology and a correction in print for printing and spreading un-verified stories. Let them believe liars, but when those lies are proven to be lies (i.e., the shooting at our downed pilot in the river show, or the marketplace civilian deaths)...WE, the American people, the Generals, the troops, the President are owed an apology...a FRONT page apology from every outlet that repeated the original stories.

David Bloom on MSN reporting that troops he's with in the field are saying (unverified by Bloom) that Iraqi's who are surrendering are reporting that ex-soviet military specialists have been advising the Iraqi's about troops movements, military tactics etc.
Also, that the Iraqi's have used night vision equip they got from France.
Surprise, surprise, surprise

" What was the question Campbell Brown asked at one of the press conference that was so stupid?"
I think it would be an easier task,to ask if Campbell Brown has ever asked an intelligent question at a presser :-). Listen closely to her reports from the WH. No matter how positive and upbeat a development she is reporting upon-she always adds that "But..." and then the bad mouthing of President Bush ensues.Always. Nothing is ever good enough for Campbell-I pity her suitors.

..NTV cam is several hundred feet to the RIGHT of the CBS cam. I can record short clips right off desktop with Camtasia and Divx codec if anything interesting happens. The MSNBC low bitrate night vision cam can be recorded with SDP- distant boom boom booms...cop siren..
rtsp://lv-msnbc.msnbc.com/MSNBC2 but MSNBC is pitifully slack about keeping this feed up consistently

the guy for Sky news who gives CBS and NPR their GLOOOOMY soundbites would eveb make Peter Arnett want to say the pledge of allegiance. He is awful and only analyzes failures/atrocities and fear, uncertainty, and doubt.

Regardless of what Jesse does today, I do not think Ambassador Combover is going to be of much use to him in the next week or so. That said, Jesse must be desperate for attention and maybe the attention he is getting today is payoff enough.

FN: Chris Kline in N. Iraq: Mosul is receiving a really punishing aerial bombardment...Mosul seems to be the first objective for allied and Kurdish forces....some 50% of the officer corp...tremendously strong loyalist base for Saddam Hussein...allied hopes...the intensive air campaign has diminished the strength...but large numbers of Fedayeen are filtering in (to Mosul and surrounding areas accord. to Kurds)...Kirkut...other great significance...highway leading all the way to Baghdad...strategically important...another city s. of Kirkut (w/ lots of Saddam loyalists) has yet to be hit by us)...

I have given your theory much consideration lately and find it sound in many respects.
People raising questions about Jesse's actions will likely get the "R" word thrown at them. Jesse's typical deflection tactic.

epluribus, have you been able to get the skynews feed today? If so, what feed? I haven't had any success and am stuck with the Baghdad Broadcasting Company.
