FREE REPUBLIC NETWORK
The Free Republic Network is pleased to announce that its chairman, Scott Swett, is scheduled to appear on the Fox News Network's Morning show - Fox and Friends at approximately 8:00 EST, Wednesday, April 2, 2003 to discuss the Rally for America and the Network's support of our troops fighting terrorism throughout the world and in support of our troops in the war in Iraq.
Scott will be representing Freepers far and wide in this rare network media opportunity to talk about our support of the US Military, President Bush and our desire to see a free Iraqi people.
In a six to eight minute segment Scott will be highlighting the recent nationwide rallies. Over the course of the month of March in over 100 cities over 150,000 people attended rallies in support of our troops.
Recent news polls show over 72% of the American people support President Bush and our troops. According to Fox News consultant Dick Morris, over 50% of the American people support the war even if it takes over a year. "Most Americans understand that removing Saddam Hussein's regime from power is an integral part of the War on Terror, and we want to honor those who are accomplishing this tough and dangerous job," said Swett in a pre-broadcast interview. "As for those who claim war never solves anything, let them take the matter up with the Taliban."
Join us and please share your support with Scott as he heads into downtown Washington D.C. to talk with Fox and Friends about Freepers!

Ah, poop. Looks like I missed out on a good interview. Maybe not... certain shadowy FR Network types are threatening to post it on freeper.org if I can't come up with enough cash.

More good news. I think. I just found out that the balloon is going to be in a full page ad in the Reader's Digest and Better Homes and Gardens and possibly other publications. It is an I Love NY ad campaign. Watch for it.
I am wondering about fair use issues a bit though....

Yeah, that could be good news.

Yea, it's cool but it the way the ad is configured, it looks like the new I Love NY balloon. Not the US Flag Balloon.

I know, I probably shouldn't whine, but a link would be cool and maybe a poster or two. My kid was piloting that day.

Thanks for the ping. I learned about it on Monday, marked my calendar, and then overslept having stayed up half the night listening to the latest war news. Kicker is I'm usually watching F&F at 6:00 a.m. when it begins here in NY, grrr.
Abner, can you ping me when you have it on tape? Thanks.

I think photos would be a GREAT idea...especially the ones that show as many people as possible, and the ones with the clever and touching signs. They NEED to know how much we all support them! BTW, I saw the FRN chairman on Fox, while I was getting ready for work this morning. He was GREAT!

MY Bad :o)
I believe he is making copies of the pics on "DVD" to send out to the troops!! (I never said I was computer savy.. so CD, DVD.. all little round disk things) LOL :o)
Yes, wouldn't it be great to drop a ton of phamplets with pictures on it showing Americans with signs saying LIBERATE IRAQ!! Good idea..

">>I was thinking yesterday that maybe it would be a good idea to send photos of our rallies to the troops in care packages.<<
That is an excellent idea!
Let me think about this..."
My brother is on the USS Bataan and I thought he would appreciate the pro-troops, Pro-USA rallies so I e-mailed him the link to that thread that links to all the Pro-America rallies:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/872439/posts He wrote back that he enjoyed these. I told him he could share them.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, Shrew.
My screenname comes from Matthew 10:16:
"Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. "
I had a different screen name, but immediately after 9/11, this verse kept crossing my mind.
I think our President is a perfect example of a serpent-dove. He wants more than anything to have peace. He has pleaded for it and given every way out.
But patience has its limits. A dove can't be devoured by a predator, if it has the wisdom (and fangs) of a serpent. When the dove is threatened, the serpent strikes.
That's where we are now, as Saddam Hussein has found out.
But as far as being the consumate example of what a Christian should be? I can't claim that.
:-S
Take care!
