Daily Mirror reported the first bombing run to Dresdin...even though not one single civilian was hurt and the only damage to civilian real estate was a few broken windows. Yea...almost like Dresdin... A-holes.

"There is enormous sensitivity within the U.S. government to reports coming out from Baghdad. They don't want credible news organizations reporting from here because it presents them with enormous problems."
That's why the US government didn't mind that Peetah stayed in Baghdad once the war started.

I report the truth To Peetah, truth is in the eye of the beholder. Satan feels that way too.

It's obvious that the POS is quite comfortable hobnobbing with blood-thirsty tyrants and his murderous henchmen.

Arentt is "just telling the truth"...and he was FIRED from CNN in 1998 for the FABRICATION story accusing the US of using chemical warfare in Vietnam.

A mind is an awful thing to waste on a crackpot journalist.

But isn't that rag the literary equivalent of the National Enquirer? Or worse, the Globe?
Sorta like I expect to see him interving Elvis next.

A mind is an awful thing to waste on a crackpot journalist. You show me someone who thinks they are objective because they don't admit to their predelictions, and I'll show you a crackpot.

One can maybe write off Arnett's original comments as a slip up, but taking another job in which he continues to spew forth this trash definitely puts him in the realm of Toko Rose and Lord He Haw.
He is a traitor pure and simple, if we dont try him on charges of treason then take the damn law off the books

But he isn't "anti-war." At least that's what he said. Why would an anti-war rag want someone who is pro-war? He's
anti-American.What does that say about the agenda of the Daily Mirror?

"I report the truth of what is happening here in Baghdad and will not apologize for it," said Arnett. Arnett, you're an idiot. You didn't get fired for telling the truth, because you weren't telling the truth. You said the U.S. military had to scrap it's first war plan. How in heavens name did you get access to that obviously SECRET material? You were fired because you were/are delusional about what is going on in this war. Perceptions are reality, and in your case your perception of reality does not jibe with any thinking people. You were fired because your hate of the United States has clouded any professional objective thinking you may have once had.

What a scum. He's a traitor, and when busted he genuflects and apologizes, then he gets a gig with an anti-American Brit paper and out come his claws again. A man without a soul.

There could be no better match for Peter Arnett than the Daily Mirror. All are anti-American apologists for tyrants and legitimizers of terror.

Has the war plan failed? I dunno, and I doubt that Arnett knows either. However, some commentators say that it has.
So Arnett can argue, with some justification, that he was fired for "telling the truth."
However, even if the war plan has failed, you don't say so in the enemy capital, so he should have been fired for giving the interview where he did.
But, IMHO, his real sin was taking credit for helping to further anti-war sentiment in the States, thereby displaying that he wished the defeat of his country. Such behavior is despicable. He should have been terminated immediately for this comment. It should not have taken NBC over twelve hours to do so.
Journalists also point out that his interview was given to a non-journalists. Apparently, they fault him for this judgement has well.
(Has the war plan failed? Again, I dunno. I've been reading military history for over thirty-five years, and I am pretty impressed with our progress so far. If these are the fruits of a failed war plan, I hope we can have more failures!)
