Bagdad is 33 north, the same as Atlanta.

Any change in twilight HAS to a camera/transmission thing.

Twilight near the equator DOES become very short, since the sun's path IS more vertical when it hits the horizon if you are near the equator: between the tropics of Capricron and tropic of Cancer (23.5 north and -23.5 south) the sun travels almost vertically as it crosses the horizon year round.

Further north/south, the twilight gets much, much longer as the sun's path intersects the horizon at an ever-increasing slant. At the extremes (beyond the two polar circles) the sun actually revolves completely around the pole and never sets in the summer. Only on two days of the year (March 22 and Sept 22) does the sun actually set exactly due west/rise exactly due east anywhere on earth.

Believe me, I'm not usually diplomatic at all... too straight a shooter for most folks around here. (I have even been really vocal at church & even library against the useful idiots peacenik crowd---) This was one of my few forays into understatement.

It really was nuts how he would speak to me about the impossibility of the Patriot to ever work. He used this to guide his certainty that no hit-to-kill ABM would ever work. Such a blind spot! During the past two years I've been waving the ABM successes at him over and over, and he still could not get the scales to fall from his eyes! The success now finally has converted him a bit, anyway.

I caught just the tail-end of Dick Morris' comments on Hannity&Colms last evening. But, Dick was essentially saying the same thing.

If that includes months, if that includes significant Coalition casualties, if that means collateral damage, if that means civilian casualties--the American people are in for the longhaul.
