Just curious: what authority does a state governor have to "seal off" an international border?

All I know is that she is pretty lenient when it comes to border issues. I don't think she'd do anything about our border problems. It's a vote issue, IMO.

(Close the Borders Now!)
To: Illbay; hsmomx3; JackelopeBreeder
To be precise, we're not asking her or the Federal gov't to seal the border. The regulated border crossings, where people cross legally all the time, would remain open.
It's the unregulated miles of border in between the crossings, where hundreds of thousands of illegals cross unimpeded, that need to be closed.
And, although our governor insists that closing that part of the border is a Federal responsibility, the Feds refuse to stop the flow. It is taking citizen involvement to even make a dent in the flow of illegals.
But of course, you know this already...this isn't the first time this point has been made.

oh...i dunno....
Something like when (then) Alabama Governor George Wallace used National Guard Troops to 'guard' a "Public School" Facility from some invading forces....
...well..at least to him they were 'invading forces'...

ILLEGAL POEM
I come for visit, get treated regal,
So I stay, who care I illegal?
I cross ocean, poor and broke,
Take bus, see employment folk.
Nice man treat me good in there,
Say I need to see welfare.
Welfare say, "You come no more,
We send cash right to your door."
Welfare checks, they make you wealthy,
Medicaid it keep you healthy!
By and by, I got plenty money,
Thanks to you, American dummy.
Write to friends in motherland,
Tell them come as fast as you can.
Come in open border and by Ford trucks,
I buy big house with welfare bucks.
They come here, we live together,
More welfare checks, it gets better!
Fourteen families they moving in,
But neighbor's patience wearing thin.
Finally, white guy moves away,
Now I buy his house, and then I say,
"Find more aliens for house to rent."
And in the yard I put a tent.
Send for family (they just trash),
But they, too, draw the welfare cash!
Everything is very good,
And soon we own the neighborhood.
We have hobby--it's called breeding,
Welfare pay for baby feeding.
Kids need dentist? Wife need pills?
We get free! We got no bills!
American crazy! He pay all year,
To keep welfare running here.
We think America darn good place!
Too darn good for the white man race.
If they no like us, they can go,
Got lots of room in Mexico.

"snookered"? You might say that about the uninformed female voters who voted for her because of "choice".
The night of the election, KFYI was polling "upscale" women on the East side of the Valley who voted for Janet just because the was a woman (?? oh really?) and because she was pro-abortion.
When I heard that, It made me feel sick to my stomach.
Ya, I guess those voters were snookered, because Janet is going to do things to them that they won't like. Problem is, it's going to be done to us as well.

The governor recently met with legislators over the issue of Homeland Security. According to Farnsworth, the governor said even if we are attacked, she will not seal off the border. California and Texas have installed steel gates on their borders, funneling illegal traffic to Arizona, which allows 1.5 million aliens to enter illegally each year.As our leaders continue to stand in stone silence....

Just curious: what authority does a state governor have to "seal off" an international border? A governor has the resposibility to protect State lands, even the lands that adjoin national borders.
So the governor should be demanding that the Border Patrol enthusiatically provide border control along all of the national borders. It is not the States sole duty to protect the border lands. This is a mutual duty.
If a Governor whose land adjoined the national border was to call up the State Guard and actually post them along the national border the Feds would find reason to halt all "federal money" coming into the State. This is how ther Feds keep control of States....money control is very effective.

That statement ALONE is more than enough for AZ's to petition for a RECALL of Ms. Napolitano......set her free
to seek employment south of the border.
To **** with all these politicians more concerned about
foreigners *rights*, rather than the safety of TAX-PAYING
AMERICANS.

Hmmm. Is this the same governor who is begging the federal government for more money to get more help securing our borders. Everytime I hear this woman talk, she is asking for a handout.
"I can't go to work today unless I get an extra $10 million to walk out the door."
