Yea, the "Breaking News: Explosions heard in Baghdad" Well no $heeeeiiittt, its a war, explosions happen in wartime...Breaking News is "Saddam surrenders" or "Chemical cache found, confirmed by CENTCOM" otherwise, Fox News needs to just report and let me decide if its breaking.Exactly! I was wondering if I just needed midol :)

I agree. Any comparison between Arnett and Rivera doesn't hold water, except for the fact that both screwed up. Arnett is evil. Rivera is just stupid.

What an idiot.
Hmmmmmmm.......two egotistical reporters blew themselves up within the same 24 hours. Arnett's crimes are LIES and TREASON. In Geraldo's case, his crime is STUPIDITY.

Was that the one where he drew the map in the sand?

>>It's hard to lump the two in the same basket.<<No it's not. Two overblown egos who think they're bigger than the stories they cover.
Sure it is. One's a traitorous anti-American, the other is an over-eager kid in a man's body that is pro-American.

Why did Fox hire this guy!?Probably because he is a fearless reporter who will go anywhere they send him on a moment's notice. I wrote to Roger Ailes when they first hired him because he had been such an adoring fan of Clintoon. I watched his reporting on FNC and a few months later sent another email expressing that I had changed my mind. He is definitely overenthusiastic in his reporting and it was a stupid mistake drawing specific battle plans in the sand, but I still like him. I do wish FNC would report that he was "disembedded" --- at least a mention of it is in order.

This is the same Rivera who was constantly and consistently supporting Klintoon during the Monica Blewinsky affairs!!

Yeah kind of too bad really. I bet he feels like hell. But he's just too emotional or something. He's just not detached like he should be.

He did it to himself. He's self centered and plays on what ever team pays him. He could care less about our military. Our military should be applauded for allowing our media, liberals and all be apart of something so important. They've shown a lot of class. But, leave it to "Jerry" to screw it up for those who are good guys in reporting...although they are few.

But you know what, his reports were the best of anyone's I've seen since it began. They actually had some information in them.
Of course, I guess that was the problem, too.

So NBC did fire Arnett!!! Good for them! Bet Freepers were not the only ones demanding he be fired!

Was that the one where he drew the map in the sand...?
Yes, but not the sand drawing. That was OK. But he said something to the effect that in a "couple of hours" the 101st would be closing the western gap in the ring around Najif. That was simply out of line.
To: Beck_isright
No, FNC did...state....the day that it happened.I must've missed that day. However, for a station that recaps every bomb burst every 15 minutes, they do not bother to introduce their "on the scene" reporters as being in Amman, when they might as well be in Tel Aviv or New York. (Though it does run the text at the bottom.)
If it weren't for embedded reporters...FNC would be SOL.
To: The Old Hoosier
Man, I was screaming at the TV watching that a-hole diagraming troop movements in the sand.
I was just heard on the radio that he was escorted back into Kuwait.
He's lucky he isn't in a brig.

Funny that CNN would comment on this seeing as one of their reporters will likely be next.. I heard (with disbelief) yesterday one of their guys in Iraq showing a closeup of the marking on their vehicle which identifies them as the good guys and explaining what it was.. my hubby and I were shocked and awed at what we were seeing and hearing on the air
To: nevergore
His leaving the war zone really screw's up my wife's and My bet on when he'll get smoked.... LOL. I saw him yesterday talking about and anticipating an upcoming action, and I thought it was really odd, but shrugged it off. I figured if they let Geraldo in on it, it must not be a secret. And I also wondered why they moved Geraldo in from Afghanistan.
They had to have known that Geraldo would blab - he can't help himself - so I hope he was used intentionally in order to broadcast disinformation.
