and similar words have been mouthed by Jennings and all the rest.

NOT in enemy territory, and interviewed by a sandmaggot in Iraqi army uniform!

If you can't see the difference...

You're correct. But there was no credible evidence whatsoever that any such thing had occurred, and Arnett "resigned" (i.e. he didn't "jump," he was "pushed").

Just like the fantasies that Arnett cooked up on the Iraq TV interview, "Operation Tailwind" was a complete fabrication.

My only problem is that compared to "Tailwind," Arnett's comments to Iraq TV were kid-stuff.

IMO, Helen Thomas makes comments at least that outrageous every time she is called upon by Ari Fleischer in the press briefing or Pres. Bush in the news conferences.

does this mean the Iraqis will take him out back and give him a smoke and a blindfold?

Well, if they don't, we should. Two words for ya: wet work.

[In the "Operation Tailwind" scandal] Arnett got a reprimand...During Desert Storm he was fired by CNN.

I think you have it exactly backward.

"But NBC wrapped themselves in the flag to support their descision to fire him."

Because if they publically state it was "economics" then they would be shunned by reporters and reporterettes everywhere. Everyone knows the obvious but never will say it. There is a huge difference between saying it in a studio in New York City and stating it in the capital of an enemy combatant. Surely you can see the difference? That would be like Murrow going to visit Goebbels in 1942 to "conduct" an interview. It was unthinkable then and now, so I see no difference. Censorship is the government acting to stifle the press, not public pressure. Please use the word correctly.

CONGRATS to us all...... for all our emails and 'pressure' last night on NBC, MSNBC, and National Geaographic.

Don't know HOW MUCH influence we had, but I imagine it had an impact.

There is some power here...... strength..... conviction.

I'm proud to be here.

Arnett did far more than read a voiceover.

I think they have this wrong.

I heard the Arnett interview. He sounded to me like they were trying to kick him out of the country and he was trying to give them a reason to let him stay, or perhaps even continue to breathe.

I shed no tears for Peter, but he sounded stressed to me.

I say we should not let Arnett back into the USA, he should be exiled as a TRAITOR for providing comfort to the enemy. The comfort is in the form of words that allow the enemy to believe they are doing well and that they have a chance. He is encouraging them.

Technically, they are not.

Technically, they are. Theoretically, they are. In actuality, they are. By any measure or definition, they are.

You apparently do not grasp the difference between uttering such comments here and uttering them ON IRAQI STATE-CONTROLLED TV.

One wonders about your ability to tie your shoes.

I'm not an attorney and I haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn Express lately, but if I'm not mistaken, the U.S. can permanently revoke his entry rights to the USA and permanently revoke Arnett's visa. But if there are any attorneys online, I'd love to verify this.

TRAITOR-One who violates his allegiance and betrays his country; one guilty of treason; one who, in breach of trust, delivers his country to an enemy, or yields up any fort or place intrusted to his defense, or surrenders an army or body of troops to the enemy, unless when vanquished; also, one who takes arms and levies war against his country; or one who aids an enemy in conquering his country.

"GE did the right thing!?!?"

Looky here what I found on http://bigcharts.marketwatch.com a few minutes ago!

8:13AM GE slides in pre-open on 'challenges' facing GE Capital (GE) by Tomi Kilgore

Shares of General Electric (GE) are sliding 63 cents, or 2.4 percent, to $25.40 after J.P. Morgan said a closer look at its GE Capital unit's investment in SES Global "illustrates the potential for a hit to earnings and equity value." Analyst Don MacDougall said that GE Capital's investment in SES Global -- GE owns 31 percent of SES -- has a current market value of less than $900 million, but is presently being carried on GE's books at $1.7 billion. GE Capital is slated to hold an investor meeting on Apr. 2 to provide an overview of its business and strategy. "While we expect the message to be positive, we see continued challenges for GE Capital," MacDougall said in a note to clients.
