WTF Is Geraldo doing?

Posted on 03/30/2003 8:48:09 PM PST by lewislynn

This is the third night I've seen Geraldo giving the location of his company and mentioning the new supply route to the west.

Three nights ago he gave his location by miles. So many miles north of Q8 and so many miles south of Baghdad and so many miles west of ?....

Now he's drawing their war plan in the sand.

I'll put Geraldo in the Peter Arnett category (is anybody really surprised at his treason?).

I went to the FOX website but can't find the e-mail address...I'm pissed.

Geraldo's dirt map had Basra too far west. It is nearly on the Iran border.

If they didn't want him doing what he is doing, they would have already shut him up. He was put up to doing it. He knows too much and is too organized for this not to be true.

If he was working for CNN, I wouldn't see his reports so I would not be able to comment on them.

No need to play dumb, you know what I meant.

Oh for crying out loud. Do your words "dirt map" mean anything to you?

Ain't it fun to be sitting here speculating?

It is for me in a way.

On the other hand, I have a lot at stake in this portion of American History.

Geraldo has done nothing wrong that I can discern during this entire episode.

I actually like his style of reporting. He sounds so very cool in my opinion.

A day or so ago (lost track of time since the war started...) I saw one of his reports and he was standing with the group of soldiers being given the classified Intel briefing. He made a point to say that the Intel officer let him know what he could reveal. So, I'm not worried about it.

I was a public affairs officer in the Air Force. What the reporters are broadcasting (or writing) is being carefully monitored in the field and at HQ.

The reporters have ground rules they must follow. If they don't follow them, they could get their butt thrown out of the unit and they may have their media credentials stripped from them by the military. It happened to a couple journalists who reported 'unreleasable' information a few days ago. Plus, they know that if they reveal information that is helpful to the enemy, they not only put the troops in danger but themselves as well since they are embedded in the unit!

LOL at map!!!! Hehehehe.

I am beginning to like Geraldo's reports. I liked it last week when he was on with all the troops. If he is willing to risk his a$$ being in Iraq, I will listen to what he has to say.

Geez, it's time for all the Freeper Geraldo haters to hang it up. He's been doing a fine job, and ask the families watching Fox while he is on what they think of his always having an audience or interviewing the troops. I'm sure they are absolutely delighted to see or hear their loved ones, and Geraldo is giving them the opportunity to say hello to their families and friends back home. The troops Geraldo is embedded with like him. The Colonel the other day on TV was praising him. He's a little tough, machismo, but totally gutsy guy, willing to be on the front lines in just about any war, and I admire that. Remember, he thought OJ Simpson was guilty. So even though he sucked when it came to Clinton, he made up for it by sticking to his guns about OJ's guilt. I guess you can't have it all, and he had a conversion after 9/11 that was major enough for him to quit his cushy, moneymaking TV job and switch over to Fox to go out on the frontlines in Afghanistan. So, why don't you who still hate, lay off of him for a little while, and try to be a little less judgmental here. He's doing a good job, both in Afghanistan and in Iraq. Sick of the kneejerk whining about him on these threads.

No one should ever have thought that Baghdad Peter had changed his spots!

Geraldo is chasing the biggest story of his life... has been since his last network refused to give him a significant reporting role immediately after 911. He was truly dismayed that they wouldn't use him. So, he went to FOX, and he has been doing a great job in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The only worry I have is that some day, when there is no more coverage of the War on Terror, that Geraldo will have a senior position, and have the eight o'clock timeslot on FOX locked up for eternity.

Chill, man. Geraldo had an epiphany when 70 of his friends perished on 9-11. He's alright now. I hated him before.

I agree 100%. My wife and I are shocked almost nightly remembering his ultra-liberal past. He is, bar none, the most biased reporter--FOR OUR SIDE--in the entire press corps. A remarkable turnaround.

Fact is, Geraldo will be booted out if he says anything he shouldn't be saying. The military is pretty stern about this and they have already kicked out a reporter from the Christian Science Monitor for this reason.
