WTF Is Geraldo doing?
Posted on 03/30/2003 8:48:09 PM PST by lewislynn
This is the third night I've seen Geraldo giving the location of his company and mentioning the new supply route to the west.
Three nights ago he gave his location by miles. So many miles north of Q8 and so many miles south of Baghdad and so many miles west of ?....
Now he's drawing their war plan in the sand.
I'll put Geraldo in the Peter Arnett category (is anybody really surprised at his treason?).
I went to the FOX website but can't find the e-mail address...I'm pissed.

And him going around and getting the troops to send a message is pretty damn nice. Wish I had a chance of that during GW1 or somalia. Bet those family members are happy to see thier loved ones.
That's one of the reasons he has troops with em. He's did it in Afghanistan also.
Christ, I'm sounding like a Geraldo apologist....Satan needs a sweater I suppose.

Perhaps, if Geraldo makes the wrong move, a friendly fire incident may occur that turns off the lights for ole Geraldo. I don't believe he's doing something that isn't approved. If so, he'd have been brain-stemmed some time ago.
To: lewislynn
Geraldo is the anti-Arnet. Don't discount him willingly participating in a mis-information campaign for the troops. His information about the resupply route going through Basra, as well as the location of Basra, was bogus.

Ever since Whorealdo went to FNC I've been liking his transformation and reports.

Calm down!
Geraldo has done nothing wrong. His support for the troops, for PresBush and for the USA has been solid since 9-11.
OTOH, Peter Arnett is a traitor!
To: Radix
Geraldo has redeemed himself, INHO. I heard his choked up heartfelt talk to a GI about his friends who died on 9-11.
I was moved to give him another chance.

I shot off an email to FNC asking them if what he did was sanctioned by the military. I would've taken a screenshot, but when I saw it I wasn't thinking "ooh I gotta get a shot of this" I was thinking "what the F**K is he thinking?!?!".

I got so annoyed with Geraldo's antics tonight that I switched to CNN. That's pretty bad.

The troops he is with are probably telling him huge lies about where they are, just to amuse themselves. They could be training in the Australian outback and that moron would report that they were on the Iraqi frontlines.

If Geraldo says anything he's not allowed to say, he'll be kicked out of the unit and possibly even shipped home (and Fox might even fire him; I doubt other networks would fire their reporters for such a mistake). One reason they might want him talking is because they want the Republican Guard to attempt an attack. And it could in part be misinformation, as well. It's not like we can keep our locations a perfect secret; the next best thing is to spread disinfo to confuse the enemy.

I bet Geraldo is telling where CENTCOM wants the Iraqis to 'think' that unit is located. Iraq has no intel capability other than TV and some dudes on ultralights that flew over some of our unit locations a day or so ago.

I am as wary of Geraldo as anyone else, however I was impressed today when I heard a Colonel in the unit where Rivera is telling how much Geraldo's encouragement and presence meant to them. While he gets under my skin, apparently he has built a very good rapport with the troops and is an encouragement to them.

on this score you are wrong about your perceiving that he did wrong... And if he was in the wrong, ,he will get booted out...
So even you aren't sure. But you and others seem to be reading off the same he will get booted out... page.
I wonder if you'd all be singing the same tune if he was working for CNN rather than working for FOX.
That's what I thought.

May you live long and prosper.
Actually, if we don't get another democratic adminsitration till after you die, I don't care if you prosper or not. Just live long:)

Same theory I have about a lot of DEBKA's and World Net Daily's sources....
