Finally the south steps of the Capitol in Austin TX. were covered with American flags and support the troops signs. Lots of support for President Bush. It was thrilling after so long of just a few of us meeting to support the troops to see the place covered with flags, cheering people and many saying we won't be silent any more.

The BBC interviewed a few people from our group. Wish they printed those interviews, instead of some of this BS.

Funny you should mention that.
I don't think most of the people actually understood it.
Maybe they really DO like Saddam.
There were a few people, in a crowd of a crowd of 2000+, who were incensed about it.
I was called a "warmonger" by one (yawn) and a "fag" by another (so much for that 'tolerance', I guess).
To: Constitution Day
Well that's an interesting concept. You're a Warmongering fag. Hmmm

We surely appreciate the HAT's for coming our way. It was our pleasure. And I so enjoyed meeting you and all the other FReepers that were there!
We're going to have to do this some more....

Here's what the anti-U.S. crowd is planning for April 7 in Austin:Anti-War Car Caravan
2:30 pm, Monday Apr 7, 2003
Rally or Demonstration
City & State Austin, TX
Topic / Issue Iraq
Location Meet at Randall's Parking Lot, 2222 and MoPac
Description We are going to the gas stations that have sent us to war. We will purchase five cents of gas on a credit card (thus costing the gas station twenty cents) and drive very, very slowly to the next (you know, to conserve gas).

Wow, can't argue with that logic, can you? Gas stations sent us to war, so we're going to drive them into debt by using credit cards for 5 cent purchases. Is there a local conservative talk show host you could warn about this?
To: DrewsDad
Now THAT'S coverage! GREAT JOB AUSTIN, you done us proud!

No, sorry not to clarify.
I was referring to 2/15/03 when we Freeped an anti-war protest in Raleigh, NC.
It was a blast.

Where did you get this info? THEY ARE SO WEIRD! And dont any of them have jobs?
Someone could at least have signs at the starting point.
There is a station but trying to get thru might be hard. They like to stick with the point of the show.
To: Allegra
nice pics, Allegra. We so enjoyed having you all here and meeting each of you. Let's do it again soon.

I was referring to 2/15/03 when we Freeped an anti-war protest in Raleigh, NC. It was a blast. We FReeped an A.N.S.W.E.R. rally the same day in Houston. There were between 3,000 to 4,000 of the unwashed scum. You're right...it is fun.

Actually, that might not be such a bad idea. Wonder if we could get some publicity out of it. I think the more stupid things these folks get known for doing the more average Joe grows to ignore them.
