Saddam's BodyGuard not with Saddam
Fox News
Posted on 03/29/2003 6:56:58 PM PST by microgood
Fox has reported twice since I have been watching that intelligence experts are perplexed by the fact that Saddam's BodyGuard that has not left his side for 15 years is not at Saddam's side, but with the Defense and Information Ministers in a Press Conference. Interesting.

Also, it could have been the secret "signal" army commanders were told to watch for during the broadcast to prove he was alive. Something like that might work.
Then again, who is to say he doesn't have look alike bodyguards too?

Not only that, but if Saddam has doubles, its safe to assume his bodygaurd does too,
so that Saddam can always be with his trusted gaurd.

I do believe Hussein and sons are with the worms. I'm guessing Sadaam is dead or injured, and at least one son is alive. Who could/would likely take charge of the regime, if they all were dead?

If he is goneit is G_d's mercy; if his sons are also gone is is G_d's grace and favor to us and to the troop we have sent.
Should he be gone, my prayer is that the truth of his demise goes like wildfire everywhere and convince the people and the fighters of their Nation that his leadership is over.
May they all be rewarded with confusion and diminishing purpose among their ranks and rebelliousness against whichever leaders are placed in charge.

I disagree if he is dead it is because of good shooting and good luck, if God wanted to grace us by leting Sadaam bite the dust, he would have done it long ago....

He was in the Handicap stall of the bunker mens room. Saved his life.

Where are these guys when they give their "press conferences", anyway. I'd sure like to see somebody drop a house on them.

Either that or a woman named Monica has been wearing a thong under her blue Bhurka while in his bunker delivering pizza and Saddam told his bodyguard to take a walk while Saddams "smokes" one of his cigars!!!

Standing....

It means Saddam is in Syria, and his bodyguard stayed behind to run the war.

if God wanted to grace us by leting Sadaam bite the dust, he would have done it long ago....According t his ex-mistress, he'd been having strokes.
For all we know, the real Saddam could have been dead for years.

But is it to his advantage to have us believe that he may be dead? that is the crux of the scenario. I would like to see some discussion on this.
personally, I think he's dead.
So far as Saddam is concerned, the perfect outcome is:
1. His Iraqi subjects believe he is alive. To date, his propaganda has aggressively supported (though not proven) this proposition.
2. But U.S. intelligence believes he is dead. And, accordingly, stops targeting him. The propaganda tapes have dropped ample hints in this direction.
Whether we are dealing with evidence or skilled disinformation is open to question.

Yes, that's a good point. Bodyguard body doubles, this is getting difficult for our intelligence services, eh? ;)
Seriously, several photos seen in a google search, clearly show this guard at Saddam's shoulder.......
This is very interesting!

Has anyone considered that now that Michael Moore is apparently available and professor DeGenova is about to be between relationship, Saddam has decided to break up with his long time boyfriend?

If the bodyguard is always with Saddam then it would be reasonable to expect that he was with him when the bombs hit the bunker. If he survived without an apparent scratch then it seems unlikely that it was terminal for Saddam. This doesn't explain his presence at the news conference but it should put a little doubt into the theory that Saddam is a goner. Interesting...except I think the claim was that Saddam was never seen publicly without this bodyguard.
That doesn't necessarily mean he is always right next to Saddam every minute of every day...or when Saddam is in a more secure environment such as his bunker.

I think Sadam is dead (along with Bin Laden). I just don't think they could not make a "live" appearance somewhere. The power and progaganda would be too great. As to why Sadam's bodyguard is alive and not him, here is my theory. The place we bombed was probably a highly secure and well hidden military facility. (yes I know it was under a civilian house) If all the other military folks were there, maybe there was no need for a bodyguard at that place.

HOLD ON...Testimonies after the first Gulf War suggested that Saddam drove around for DAYS in a small unremarkable car (Passat has been cited) with ONE guard (having assigned the others to guard OTHER leaders for disinfo), and would drop in on leaders without notice. Heck, for all we know he is in one of the vehicles driving by the CNN cam each and every morning during the rush hour.
