Prayers for you sis. My wife had the same surgery, she is happy as a lark about it.
To: TEXOKIE
Yeah, there is a freeper named TexanaRed whose home was washed away about a year ago in the flood that hit Kerrville and Ingram.
Many of us responded to her need with prayers and small money donations.
I think she took the "Red" part from her red hair, but I'm not sure.
The Texana part, of course, probably came from Lake Texana.
May God guide the surgeon's hands and heal with the power of His spirit.
To: TEXOKIE
No problem. Keep us informed.

Thank you for your prayers, jwalsh. We appreciate hearing about successful outcomes for this procedure! I'm so happy that your wife is pleased with her result!

I've just received an email from my sister and she wants me to let all of you know the following:
"Thank you so much -- I'm in tears right now. I just read the outpouring of love and prayers from people who do not even know me. It's truly amazing. Please thank them for me and let them know that their prayers were received into my heart, and I feel better already! "
Please add to hers my own thanks.

Let me add another success story to yours, jwalsh07, to reassure TEXOKIE and his sister.
Ultrasound is used to map the precise size and shape of the eye so the gunk can be removed and a made-exactly-to-fit piece inserted to replace it!
Amazing technology.
Mine were done in January and February of 1999; outpatient surgery, under an IV sedative. It was so weird to be awake and aware of what was happening - yet totally detached, even knowing what the surgeon was doing! Never felt a thing, and went home after the sedative wore off.
Granted, hers is in a more difficult spot and she'll be watched in the hospital afterward, but a good outcome is likely.
For that, indeed, I add my prayers for an easy, uneventful surgery and rapid recovery.
In my case, vision was actually improved, and the need for glasses eliminated except for reading smaller print - the "Over 40" malady that strikes most..:))
