My Message to Columbia Professor Nicholas De Genova regardin his death wish for our forces
FreeRepublic | March 29, 2003 | Jeff Head

The following is my email to Professor Nicholas De Genova of Columbia University who was quoted in the New York Post as wishing a "million Mogadishus" on American servicement in Iraq at an anti-war rally.

This was reported on FreeRepublic on this thread, Columbia Prof wishes death to GIs.

Here's my email to him:

Nicholas De Genova,

Your call for the US Military to suffer a "million Mogadishus" has crossed a serious line on civility and duty and commitment to our nation.

You are wishing for the death of 18,000,000 of your fellow countrymen and women, individuals who are fighting for your ability to make your crass statements about their well being.

Are you familiar with the term "useful idiot"? If you are not, I suggest that your read your history regarding the Bolshevik revolution in Russia. Note the ultimate outcome to the "useful idiots" employed by the Bolsheviks. If you get your way, and these tyrants are victorious, those very people you support with your comments would have no compunction about doing the same to you and your ilk, while the very people you deride are dedicated to your life and liberty. Perhaps you should think about that.

In addition, you are self defeating in your own comments. You clearly have no concept of history, even recent history. Something between 2,000 and 10,000 Somalis were killed in that Mogadishu battle. Your wish for 18,000,000 American dead would result in between 2,000,000,000 and 10,000,000,000 Iraqi dead ... in other words, a complete depopulation of that country. With such a statement, and such a wish, you reveal your true genocidical nature.

Individuals like you are what is wrong with the world today. You are so transparent and so ignorant of history that it would be laughable, if your policies were not so dangerous. All I can say to you are the words that Samuel Adams said to similar defeatists and traitorous thinkers to the original American cause:
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom...go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels nor arms. May your chains set lightly upon you and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."- Samuel Adams
Without and ounce of respect,

You may be right ... it is hard to say who would cross the line from talking death and inflicting it.

Either way, the message is the same, from them, and from us. There cannot be an ounce of tolerance for this type of attitude IMHO, and we the people must make that plain.

Hit Columbia in the wallet, just as the Dixie Chicks and Sarandon, (and Chris Rock soon) got hit in the wallet. Columbia U will soon have to cut bait from this DeGenova guy if they expect any funding. Might be too late for Columbia even now. They made their bed.

Hit Columbia in the wallet

Hmmm. Do they get any corporate funding? Maybe those corporations could be boycotted.

"I was filled with anger, too. Peace protests are one thing. Arson/anarchy that have come with the protests are detestable. But
the professor calling for death to our brave YOUNG men and women in harm's way is damnable. My future son-in-law went
into the navy after graduation from high school about a year ago. He is still in training in Florida, but has had "all of his shots"
and he knows where he is headed. He went into the military because he wanted an education, he needed some time to grow
up and mature, and he wanted to do his duty for all of us. I hate knowing that a college professor wishes Robby dead. Some
of these soldiers will return from the Gulf, they will go to college... this professor will be facing many of them at that time. I
don't know if the college will be able to keep the professor safe, he may have to go to a new school and teach under a new
name and ID."

I sent this to my Marine Corps sons, as they aspire to higher education. They, like their dad are not to be crossed. Our motto is forgive (sort of) and remember.

best regards

Freedom and liberty through true education. These people do not educate, the propogandize and indoctrinate with lies.

And ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall set you free.

The truth is what is needed. The truth about the immorality of communism, marxism, compulsion and tyranny. And the truth about independence, soveriegnty, liberty and freedom. As John Adams so eloquently stated a big part of that truth ... "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other."- John Adams, Oct. 11, 1798

Best Fregards.

I am afraid there are far too many who wish this. Reference the sign wishing for our troops to kill their officers.

I wonder if that Muslim Sgt in the 101st saw that sign? He certainly acted it out.

Traitors one and all, who think, say or act out anything remotely similar IMHO.

The ilk of people who fought and won WW II would not put up with this disgusting nonsense for a moment. In know, I have asked a couple. They feel an individual openly advocates this during war should be incarcerated and brought up on treason charges.

If this isn't advocating and giving aide and comfort to the enemy ... not much is IMHO. Whether he actually pulls the trigger or advocates and supports our enemies in doing so is the same in this regard.

Yours was and excellent letter. Following your example I wrote:

Dear Sir,

I am sure you know by now what a discredit Professor De Genova is to your university. Discounting the near treasonous statements he made at the teach-in, a university sponsored event, his arguments are so inane and lacking in fact-based logic that I would seriously question his ability to properly teach his specialty. Perhaps you should reevaluate his credentials.

Regards,

My email to Mr. Bollinger, President of Columbia:

Dear Mr. Bollinger:

In the matter of recent remarks made by Professor De Genova, I find it impossible to adequately express my outrage. The instinct is to rant, rave and go on a tirade but tirades are not taken seriously. Therefore, I'll simply say that his remarks are incredibly hateful and positively un-American and that he has disgraced your University and confirmed the view shared by many; that Ivy League institutions are hotbeds of anti-American hatred. The enemy is within, Mr. Bollinger, and residing at Columbia.

With all sincerity, I am

Here's my message sent to this douchebag (apologies to all actual feminine hygenie products everywhere) under the subject line of "A million Kent State's wished upon you":

I just recently read of your wishing my Brothers in Arms, and by extension myself, "a million Mogadishu's" at an anti-war rally. That really says alot to those who volunteer to go in harm's way so you can sit on your hippie ass and wish death upon the very people who took it upon themselves to protect and serve so you don't have to. Did you stop to think for one minute that the very people you wish death upon are the same that protect your right to curse them? Wait, I'm sorry, that implies you actually THINKING about something other than your rabid hatred of the very country that protects you and makes you a living. My apologies.

I don't mind telling you, and any of your communist/islamofascist buddies, that I truly hate the thought that I may have to one day leave 5 beautiful children without a father and a beautiful woman without a husband because I volunteered to stand up and possibly die for your right to wish death and dismemberment upon me and my brothers. But, alas, I have sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution for all and that is what I shall do.

I also don't mind telling you that many good men and women, better than you or your elitist brethern could ever hope to be, have died and sadly many more will. I can only hope that you have the privilege of meeting a member of their close family face to face. Better yet, I hope you get to meet one of their good friends that had to watch them die. Maybe they will be more understanding if they were to hear you say what you feel while you are within an arms reach. Then again they would probably just rip your arms off and shove them down your throat.

Tell you what, why don't you come on down here to Norfolk, VA, and repeat yourself to the populace. For that matter, I'll sign you on to the Little Creek Amphibious Base and let you repeat that to some of my good friends at SEAL Team Two, Assault Craft Unit Four, Special Boat Unit 2, SPECWAR Development Group, and the good ol' Marines. If you have the conviction of your words and if you are not a craven coward like the rest of your fellow protestors, you can really come down here and make your case. I'll get a good audience for you.

May you rot in Hell,

What needs to be done is to tie this useful idiot to the entire pro Iraq movement. Make every demonstrator, every teach in protestor an ally of this guy. Make them accept or reject his ravings, but do not under any circumstance allow the leftist movement to be able to ignore them or ask to 'move on'. This man's statements and his positions need to be publicized as the true voice of the left over and over.
