Doesn't sound like a quagmire to me.

Saddam has us right where he wants us. We are falling into his trap.

US Helicopters kill 50 elite iraqi troops Since when have we started riding Iraqi troops around in our helicopters?? :-)
(/sarcasm)
To: Gorilla44
How can they tell there were 50 dead when they could only confirm 25 vehicles destroyed? They are assuming at least two Republican Guards per vehicle and discounting the possibility that either or both escaped. Unless they can actually show the bodies we have no proof. (Playing the role of CNN commentator)

The Republican Guard is busy retreiving the dead bodies and strewing them around a nearby "nmarket place".

I am getting sick of the Republican Guard being called elite. Their training is no better. The difference is that they are better paid, tend to be better equipped and are supposed to be more loyal.
If I have a gun and you have a stick, that doesn't make me more elitie than you.

"We fired 40 missiles and we had 40 hits...." Major Hugh Cate told Reuters. Tomorrow or the next day they will have another raid, and inevitably one of the missiles will miss. At that point, one of our esteemed journalists will ask Rumsfeld, "Doesn't this indicate that our missiles are failing to hit their targets?" |

I'm starting to enjoy the headcount, every time I hear of another coalition member killed, captured, found buried in a "shallow grave", or bombed by a terrorist, it makes me curiously pleased to hear that we are getting WAY more of them.
I guess I'm not a very good Christian today.

guess they were not so elite

If the Iraq regime continues to destroy coalition missiles at this rate, how can coalition forces hope to win? :>)
To: Gorilla44
While I generally don't think it's a good idea to compare "body counts," it is probably worth noting that U.S. forces have lost 37 personnel total in this fight so far. It is obvious that we are inflicting far more damage on the Iraqi regime than they are inflicting upon us.
