Troop Prayer Thread 4

Posted on 03/28/2003 11:26:53 PM PST by TEXOKIE

Edited on 03/29/2003 3:57:38 PM PST by Admin Moderator. [history]

Welcome to the Troop Prayer Thread! We gather here together in the belief that "whereever two or more are gathered in my name, there am I," and that by the grace of God, group prayer effort can be a great force for good in the world.

We are listing here members of the active armed services known to us for whom we want to pray. We are also seeking to keep track of the Captured/MIAs here for prayer purposes.

If you would like to submit someone for our list, you are welcome to do so at any time. Post their name or pseudonym here on the thread or freepmail amom or myself. If we have made any errors, please let us know so that we may correct the list. We will be making periodic updates. If you want to be added or removed from the ping list please let amom or me know by freepmail.

We invite everyone, active Freepers and Lurkers alike to join our circle in prayer for these fine men and women who have volunteered to place their lives on the line for the defense of our nation and for the liberation of the oppressed peoples of other nations. To them we send our greatest respect and gratitude. We send them our prayers and good thoughts. We ask for God's blessing upon them and their families.

For those of us who have somewhat limited computer capacity, we request that graphics be limited to pictures of loved ones for whom we are offering prayers, special visuals that seem particularly appropriate, and as much as possible, non-moving graphics. Thank you.

The brave men and women who have been captured or are missing.

Thank you for leading us in the St Michael prayer for the troops, Smocker. It is appropriate, for it is my understanding he has been adopted as the guardian angel for paratroopers and soldiers...(as well as law enforcement!)

My sister tells me that she was visiting the 82nd Airborne museum at Ft Bragg once with her kids and they saw a beautiful statue of Archangel Michael displayed there.

I have had an experience with Archangel Michael that I would like to tell. I have had a habit myself over the years of calling upon St Michael to protect me whenever I get in a car. One shiny Sunday afternoon quite a number of years ago, I met a friend and we decided to go out to eat at a restaurant across town and we got into her car and started out. We never made it.

On our way, I had that niggle that something needed to be paid attention to, but I just couldnt focus on it. Finally it struck me: I heard a train whistle. I interrupted my friend and said, "I hear a train!" She put on the breaks. Sure enough, there it was. It was coming from behind some industrial buildings alongside the track.

I truly did not think at the time that we were on the tracks, but because it was a near thing, I considered it prudent to call upon Archangel Michael. I shouted, "MICHAEL!!"

No one was more surprised than I was to all of a sudden feel the blow of that train engine against the car. I have no visual images, because I'm certain my eyes were glued shut, but I remember being shaken and thrown around. I heard the engine roar. I was thinking, well, this is it, I'm going Home. The only regret I had was that I couldnt say goodbye to my loved ones. I felt NO pain at any of the blows my body took. (That came later!) After things became peaceful again, I opened my eyes and grabbed my friend. She turned and looked at me and said, "Why I had a dream about this!"

She was never able to elaborate on this statement for shortly after that she went into shock and no longer recalls events surrounding the accident.

The car was, as you can imagine, totaled. Neither of us (for shame!) was wearing seat belts. We had been struck just six inches from the passenger compartment right at the left front tire. We bounced off the front of the train. The car spun and the rear end of the car struck the train again. We bounced off that and the front end of the car landed in the light pole. Any of those impacts could have killed us we were told later. We took out the diesel tank on the second engine of the train. My friend's car seat was broken. I was prevented from going through the windshield because my brow hit and broke off the rear view mirror. We both had bruises as big as Dallas and soft tissue injuries, but no broken bones. It was a true miracle that we both walked away from it.

When God sends his angels to protect us, they definitely get the job done!

Thank you for letting us know about your friends Daniel Osborne (Charlie Company, 1st Batallion, 1-43rd out of Ft Riley, KS) and Danny Oz in special ops.

Our Father,

We place before you the lives of Daniel and Danny. We are grateful for and mindful of the sacrifice they make to defend us. We ask that you will clear the way before them in all their missions. Grant all, but especially Danny and all those in special ops an invisibility and invulnerability and invincibility upon their missions.

Let these young men be victorious in all they do. Amplify your Presence in their hearts so they are constantly aware of your proximity and caring. Please take our prayers for them and transform them into a swaddling garment of love and protection around them.

Father, grant these young men and all our troops the clarity and focus of mind and heart of a warrior for true peace and freedom in the tradition of an Archangel Michael who was called upon by God to cast out the devils from Heaven itelf.

Grant the family and friends of these young men your comfort, reassurance, and grace during this time of separation and danger. Let them and all families of servicemen know that we join them in holding the vigil until they return safely and victoriously.

All this which we ask for Daniel and Danny we ask to be done according to thy will for all who serve under arms with them in our troops and coalition brothers. Amen

:-) What generous words, Quix. I am so very grateful to be able to add my prayers to all of yours who have chosen to form a prayer circle here. We are all, as a group, and as one of the prayer cells scattered all over the landscape, putting our little prayer bullets together to create a MOAB weapon of light so that our LORD will take command of the entire situation on the battlefields of Iraq, Afghanistan, and the world.

To God Goes the Glory! AMEN!

THANKS.

AMEN!

ABSOLUTELY!

1 shall put 1,000 to flight; 2 put 10,000 to flight as The Word says.

Praise God for our caring and for our chance to show it in prayer.

related Scriptures:

Leviticus 26
7 You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you. 8 Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you.
9 " 'I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you.

Deuteronomy 32
29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?
31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

And . . . "The weapons of our warfare are not carnal . . . "
