[history]
Welcome to the Troop Prayer Thread! We gather here together in the belief that "whereever two or more are gathered in my name, there am I," and that by the grace of God, group prayer effort can be a great force for good in the world.
We are listing here members of the active armed services known to us for whom we want to pray. We are also seeking to keep track of the Captured/MIAs here for prayer purposes.
If you would like to submit someone for our list, you are welcome to do so at any time. Post their name or pseudonym here on the thread or freepmail amom or myself. If we have made any errors, please let us know so that we may correct the list. We will be making periodic updates. If you want to be added or removed from the ping list please let amom or me know by freepmail.
We invite everyone, active Freepers and Lurkers alike to join our circle in prayer for these fine men and women who have volunteered to place their lives on the line for the defense of our nation and for the liberation of the oppressed peoples of other nations. To them we send our greatest respect and gratitude. We send them our prayers and good thoughts. We ask for God's blessing upon them and their families.
For those of us who have somewhat limited computer capacity, we request that graphics be limited to pictures of loved ones for whom we are offering prayers, special visuals that seem particularly appropriate, and as much as possible, non-moving graphics. Thank you.
The brave men and women who have been captured or are missing.

Read every single name and prayed for them all. Will also pray for the "list" and all our troops and the Commander in Chief at church here in a few. Thanks for letting me know. It's nice knowing.

((((((amom)))))) Just gave an American Flag Pin with the words "Support OUR Troops" on it to a Mom from our church who "had" TWO of her kids over there.
She just shared with us that a couple days ago she was helping with the birthday party of one of her sons children (who was turning 10), had gone to get the balloons and when she was putting them in her car heard a voice go "Mam, do you need help with that?"
She turned around to see one of her sons standing there. He surprized her!!!
If you have a child over there stay strong amom.
We just hope Moms and Das will remember how strong their child is being, how brave. And yeah,.. its ok to be scared sometimes. (Our troops have a "healthy" amount of fear.. that keeps them safe and alive). We hope the Moms and Dads just keep reminding themselves of how brave their child is. We understand how parents, wives, siblings and friends must be brave and strong too.
How proud we are of all of our troops, and all the families!
Everyone who has a family member overseas serving in our military is in our prayers and have our gratitude, as do our service members.
We will stay strong in our support of all of them.

My pastor read Isaiah 58 to us on Ash Wednesday. It spoke right to my heart, so I wanted to share it.

I see that the Administrator edited the list of names, but the History link at the top links to the original list.
I want to let you know, so you can verify that the link isn't telling us any looselips info.
Thanks,

Two things to mention:
I live close to Camp Pendleton and last week there was a young wife of a soldier asking for prayer at church - our music pastor prayed for her...it had been six weeks since she had heard from her husband (a sniper) and she was very concerned. This morning there was an article in the OC Register that this week she had received a letter from her husband. The Lord does answer prayers.
The second item is a young man (and a mom) to add to the list to be prayed for...I'll call him Wendy's son, Chris. Her husband died suddenly 2 1/2 yrs. ago - she's fairly young - and her oldest son Chris (19) is a marine on the front lines...she has two daughters left at home. But she is shouldering this by herself - no dad/husband to help her carry this burden. Pray for Chris's safe return. Thank you.

I bet your lady friend loves that pin! How thoughtful of you. And what great news of her wonderful suprise. It's amazing to me how a mothers love can run so deep.
None of my children are over there but living on base during Viet Nam gave me a taste of the life and I know how to suck it up and hold tight, and pray and pray and pray. I realize over and over again how these kids are knowingly putting their lives on the line for our freedom and the freedom of others. Words escape me.
