Operation Infinite FReep in Fresno, California (3-28-03)

Tonight's FReep of the peaceniks on Fresno, California's busiest intersection was just awesome! We couldn't begin to count how many people showed up tonight, but estimates varied between 250 and 300. A huge group from Riverside's Assembly of God Church joined us once more. They are just a wonderful bunch of God fearing, decent people who are just full of love of country. FReepers and regulars who were able to attend tonight's FReep were:

The Riverside group brought the largest flag I have ever seen (see a picture of it below) and a truck full of sound equipment. They played patriotic music and then many of them formed a choir who sang several songs, including the Star Spangled Banner and God Bless the USA. A screen and projector were set up and footage of the 9-11 disaster was shown as were speeches given by President Bush. They had two people, one man and one young boy, dressed up as Uncle Sam walking on stilts who made their way through the crowd.

It was just a fabulous FReep, one that none of us will soon forget. You would not believe the number of honks we got tonight from motorists driving by to show support for our troops and the war. Fresno loves and supports our troops and their commander-in-chief!

Hello everyone GREAT GREAT rally we had last night just Flippin AWESOME. WOO HOO. This is an email that my Boyfriend who is overseas right now in Afghanistan wrote he was also in the first Gulf War. I know that he appreciates people like us who support he and so many others who protect our country .YAY I hope we have a bigger crowd even next Friday take up all the corners YAY. Bye Tiff

I just read the article on the Vermont Soldier who was stoned and called
names. Being in the service things like that turn my stomach. When instead
of throwing stones, they should kiss her a**, and thank her, that they are
not speaking German or Russian.
It is due to people like her and myself that they have the right to protest
and not have to worry about a Death Squad taking them to the secret police
to be talked too.
Incidents like that are bothersome, but on the other hand when I get a home
made banner from an Elementary School, thanking me for keeping them safe,
Boneheads like that group of escaped mental patients don't really
matter.They should pick up a weapon, and stand in the trenches with me.
I wonder if they would change thier point of view, if they had seen a 12
year old girl, who just had her left foot removed, and her face blown off by
an Iraqi land mine, I have seen it, and it is painful, being a father
myself, I know what that poor family is going through, Incedently, she died,
I couldn't save her.
Those Morons in Vt, don't represent the population of the country, I know we
all have mixed feelings about the war, but is it going to really take
another 3000 people dead, or a nerve agent let loose in a subway. If my
being here helps stop that, so Escaped mental patients have the right to
protest, then I am willing to move from my family, and put my life at risk
everyday I wake, so those who want to protest can do so and not have to
worry.
I sit and wonder where they may have gotten those rocks, and it dawns on me,
they came from the inside of thier heads.
I say if they want to throw rocks, come over here and try it. I know they
never will, for they only represent the cowards and the weak, and it is
people such as that Army Sergant, who are the real Heros.

well I CERTAINLY hope that the "water" from the water balloon was indeed WATER!!! I wouldn't put it past those communists if they put pee in that bottle. Gotta watch out for those probably they would do that or even put dye in some water. Makes me feel like throwing doo doo balloons at them but I won't. Bye

Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow!! What a thread, what a fantastic Flag, what a terrific freep! So sorry I had to miss it! Chads did call me a couple of times so I could hear the choir singing. Were they great! I am just overwhelmed looking at the pictures on this thread, and so thrilled that so many wonderful people participated in this!

Did you attend the one today in Riverpark? We passed by that group and did the honking thing. Wanted to stop and join in, but we didn't have our signs or flags with us!

Fantastic pictures everyone, and this was some night to remember. I hope at least of few of the anarchists across the street were still there to see this crowd of proud Americans!!!!

BTW: I hope everyone took the time to thank Jerry Duncan for dumping that pacifist professor who is always across the street from the human rights commission. He is taking a lot of heat for his very brave action!!!!

Hey I really was happy that so many people showed up I posted a letter from my boyfriend who is a staff sergeant based out in Afghanistan, right now our troops out there are having stuff still to deal with, just the other day some soldiers were ambushed and killed near where he is based at, I hope he will be ok. I posted his letter in another post he was basically responding to an article that I had forwarded to him from Foxnews.com about a Vermont National Guardsman who was in her uniform coming out of a store when some teenagers or some "peacenicks" threw rocks at her and her car and called her a baby killer. Needless he wasn't too happy about it, If anyone one wants to read it please do so. I really love the rally we had I REALLY DO I want another one that takes up ALLL the corners

BTW, How do people post pictures on here I wanted to post one of my bf if that is ok?
