BETWEEN IRAQ AND A HARD PLACE: Saddam’s Regime Means to Murder More Millions

The media in large measure have declared this liberation effort a “failure”, a “quagmire”, a “new Vietnam”, after 6 days of offensive. Gee, with such blatant and clumsy telegraphing, I have no doubt those in the anti Bush media will make any war length seem very much longer. The murderous regime of Saddam & Sons with their vile track record to support this, have already begun to herd women and children to strategic military targets. The propaganda war has, also, already begun. Iraqis, fearful or brainwashed, have already danced in the Shaab marketplace in Baghdad, waving bloody limbs and shouting allahu akbar (god is great) custom-made for the Arab press to display. And we can expect much more from these politically minded oppressors, ever mindful of the world’s watching and they will play it out on the media stage for all it’s worth for that is the only place they might have a chance to succeed.

When a missile hits the ground, it makes a specific, shaped hole, scatters its metal as shrapnel around the scene and is identifiable by those who have the experience to make comparison. From the reports I have heard, the Baghdad marketplace recently in the news, had a cup-shaped hole in the ground that is the signature of placed or buried explosives. The cars in the area had no shrapnel scars and pieces of the missile itself were not visibly strewn about in any of al Jazeera’s coverage. No evidence that this was a missile attack. Yet that makes no difference in Saddam’s media or their allies.
