Exile on main street Damascus? No way.
He gets a one way ticket across the River Styx.
After the murder of Britsh and American POWs? The only exile this evil cracker gets is eternity in Hell.

**All this assumes that the Iraqi people don't get to them first and they end up like old Benito. Remember too that the road to Syria mostly goes through Kurdistan, and what doesn't goes through the western dessert, now populated by US and allied troops. If they try to bug out via aircraft, fixed or rotary wing, keep in mind that AWACS is on station, just waiting for anything to lift off from an Iraqi airfield. Those weapons controllers and the fighter pilots they direct are probably salivating at the chance to kill something that's airborne. And if he takes a land vehicle, the controllers on board JSTARS are equally eager I'm sure.**
Sounds like they have it covered.
But in a box on a ship? Hopefully dead in a box on a ship!

If Saddam wishes to flee to the remnants of the Ba'ath Party in Syria
The Syrian Ba'ath and the Iraqi Ba'ath have always hated each other. Sort of a Stalinist/Trotskyist thing; hated each other more than they hated capitalists.

So, what do you thin?I thin he should become fish food, if any fish is so unfortunate as to happen upon his shreds. Otherwise, he should become worm food, if any worm should become . . . shall I go on?

Not me, the only way to truely get this over is to show Saddam ala Mussolini. If not we'll see the same thing as what we've got with Ben Ladin. If they have orders to kill him I would bet they also have orders to destroy the body to prevent us being able to prove he's dead.

As we have said before, as a practical matter, it is inevitable. Syria is among the set of three that is the second Axis of Evil.

Along the same thoughts but for differnt reasons. I don't think Hitler thought the allies would be to concerned, he just couldn't stand the thoughts of the Russians displaying him as a trophy. Saddam on the other hand knows thet if the USA and British can not prove him dead it will create big problems for years to come. His loyalist will be harder to get under control. They can just say he has released a statement every couple weeks or months. The civilians will always have the thought he may return.

"In addition, the dictator reportedly has been selling off property and valuables to raise money for his exile. "
Well, there went the credibility of this article. Saddam has no need for a friggin yard sale! He has millions, if not billions in banks all over the world. He can retire to Gay Paree in fine shape.

But in a box on a ship? Hopefully dead in a box on a ship! Not in a car, not on a ship,
Not in a plane, can't give us the slip.
Not with his sons, not with his wife,
Not in the day, not in the night.
You can't get away from justice, Saddam,
Not this time, says Uncle Sam.
