Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Regarding Geo Step.. (I cant spell regular words!!) -I am also big movie fan(please don't shoot me). You all have much more expertise & so when I can add a VERY inpt tidbit I will (g)
If you have not seen Mars Attacks .. do it is a hoot. Parody on Govt, press reporting etc. and oh, yes, a attack from mars.. and they do "interesting things to the press" ..There is a Geo Staph character part.. guy even looks like him. You'll roar as he "develops the part"
Decent cast.. Nicholson, Glenn Close, Sarah Jess Parker,
It would be good break & comic relief for you .. and there are some interesting things in that movie to which this present war relates

Bloom just gave GREAT report!
The 3rd ID's spirits are SOARING (his word) today because they believe the Iraqis made a major mistake. That column moving down from Baghdad was made up of civie trucks and cars and "filled with troops wearing U.S.-like uniforms". The lead elements got within a mile of the 3rd and then the air support swooped in. Took out the lead element and then dropped 52 bombs on the rest of the "12-mile long" column! Wooooo hoooo! All mopped up.
He said they've changed their rules of engagement based on that report AND that they've found caches in nearby towns of uniforms similar to the 3rd ID. Now they're told that friendlies are wearing their chemsuit pants. If an approaching figure does not have on those pants and doesn't submit immediately, rules now allow them to fire.
It was good to hear such an upbeat report from the 3rd. Weather was beautiful.

FNC did a great job with the CC.. didn't they? I sure miss it. Yes, they did and I was so proud of them. I really thought they were going to stick with it this time. They did this back when 9/11 happened and they did 24/7 captioning for about five days then stopped. That's so frustrating for deaf viewers. Not only do I miss it, I NEED it. I can't get online at nighttime due to hubby sleeping so there's no way I can keep up with the news after 11 pm. And what's more, the weekend is coming up so we're talking about no closed captioning at all. Fox does not caption their news on the wknds at all except for maybe a couple of hours in the evenings. So, again, I ask FReepers to keep bombarding Fox News with this issue. Thanks!

Yeah - could be a weave. Too bad he can't get longer legs. Yeah, maybe before the door hit him on the way out, Sammy D. gave Little Georgie some rug advise.

Go Dish Network - I did years ago and have never looked back! Fox News in a crystal clear digital picture and CD-quality sound. I used to lose my cable feed several times a month. I've only lost Dish once in years.

Don't know about a party, but those pedestrians are taking their lives in their hands crossing the intersection.

Good morning folks. Being currently unemployed, it has certainly been a pleasure to be a small part of a caring community which contains many interesting personalities and possesses a unique blend of humor.
