Bin Laden's niece aiming for pop stardom

A niece of terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden is planning on launching herself as a pop star in the UK. Waffa Bin Laden, who lives in London, has been working on demos and is hoping to sign a record deal soon, according to the Sun newspaper.

26-year-old Waffa's a lawyer and trained in the US. Her dad Yeslam is the al-Qaeda leader's brother.

Worried about name

But Waffa doesn't have anything to do with her uncle.

However, the paper says Waffa is worried her surname might be off-putting to some record labels.

Waffa's said to look a bit like Natalie Imbruglia.

She's reportedly been working with Madonna producer Nellee Hooper and John Benson, the man who discovered All Saints.

Yep. Normoally I don't approve of slutty Western pop stars, but in this case I'd have to make an exception. Most of the family won't mind BTW (though many will pretend to), but Osama would be duly horrified. I hope her first album cover has a picture of her shaking her scantily clad tits or rear at a picture of her evil uncle, and the music video possibilities are too marvelous to contemplate.

Yes you can hold it against her. She is using the notoriety of her uncle to cash in, essentially using the death of 3000 souls to furthur her career. If she wasn't a "bin laden" she'd just be another nice voice in the crowd.
actually that probably works against her more than for her.. she'll probably have to drop the name to be really successful with a singing career
