Go find a mirror.

Look into it.

SMILE!

The world's not THAT bad, is it?????? Felt kinda good to smile? Try it more often, and stop acting like such a poop.

Thanks.

You've implied we're dupes and tow the GOP line and get our thoughts from Ari, Rove, et al.

I happy you care about your son and you obviously care what I think because you replied to my thread. So, when I reply quit whining.

No retribution against SA? Wait. Everything in due time. Despite what you may think, there is a time and a place for everything. SA is in the future.

N. Korea is EXACTLY why we're in Iraq right now. NK procured and made its nukes during times where there activities continued without recourse. To ignore Iraq in lieu of your "Bigger fish" just leaves with this situation in Iraq.

Russia and the rest will get their due but the sign of the SUCCESS of the Bush diplomatic effort leaves Russia fairly close and NK still at bay. Of course, the cry and whine says "But what about NK, Russia, France? Why Iraq?" We answer over and over and over again and your failure to see the logic is not my problem. Moreover, instead of focusing on your original whiner argument about Halliburton and oil, you veer off course. Typical.

Now you move onto the border situation and airport security? Goodness man, get a grip.

GOP blinders...once again implying we don't think for ourselves...yet you have miserably failed to present your ARGUMENT about why this is "all about oil." First, stay on the original subject. Second, present a cogent argument. Third, if you're unwilling to tangle("As far as my alleged "whining" I happen to care too much about my son and his future to worry about what you think. ") then stay the hell of the post!

It's all about the hypocrisy amigo and as I said previously wait and see who the usual suspects will be that just happen to land all the contracts to "rebuild" Iraq. Oh yeah, I'm sure SA will get their just due...I'll be waiting with baited breath and as far as NK goes regardless of when the nukes were built they have made direct threats against and they present a far bigger threat than Iraq will ever be. Wouldn't be surprised if NK and China both make their moves after they see us bogged down into another VietNam like quagmire. for our troops sake I want to be wrong but time will tell.

Gramma, thanks for the note. Hey, I smile all the time, I have my own business, two great kids and wonderful wife, coach girls softball, had my kids singing "God Bless America" during YMCA games so I'm not a curmudgeon by any stretch. Being an independent businessman has left me with independent sense of what seems to be right and wrong. Spent countless hours trying understnd how this democracy of our is supposed to work...which is funny I don't remember pledging allegiance to the "democracy for which it stands" (we're supposed to be a republic).

My point is I see this country de-constructing right before my very eyes and I try to call attention to gov't. initiatives that sound good on the surface but the reality is far different. I believe that we need to learn to how to be more discerning about what we hear from the talking heads spouting the company line, network to network like they're all reading from the same script. My point is when you see icons of the airline industry disintegrating before us, unbelievable corporate fraud, borders out of control...open to who knows what kind of murderers, rapists, terrorists, etc. yet all we see in the news is Michael Jackson, Robert Blake and the other made for TV bozo's. To be a small businessman one must be eternally optimistic and always prepared to fight the battle...let me tell you the battle to save this republic from ignorance, arrogance and freedom robbing marxist ideologues residing in this fedgov will be something to see.

Don't have an agenda, don't hope for a quagmire. Making an observation as I did denotes neither so go chew on your nails and try again.

Or Mexico, Venezuela, Trinidad, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, the Emirates, Iran... The first three targets would be walk-overs, closer to home and much easier conquests than Iraq.

Wow, you have the talking points down cold, but you forgot to mention the Carlyle Group so we could all put our tinfoil on.

Do you look like Ramsey Clark too?

"They're engaging in a conflict without Congressional declaration or UN approval"

Oh, you mean like the approval of congress and the UN that your buddy Clinton always got before launching any military action?

"Are you that timid that this lame crap is all you can come up with?"

I assure you he is not timid. If you're lucky, his retort may be all you get. If he takes a mind, I've no doubt he could slap down nearly every point of your faulty logic. I'm guessing he figures it would be a waste of time. If you're trying to peddle your obvious anti-Bush sentiments, I think you're in the wrong place.

Saying this is "all about oil" is like saying "9/11 is all about lumber".

Boiling a country down to it's most abundant natural resource, and useing it as the sole atribute for definition, is a very obtuse and uninformed position.

I always make a real effort to be civil on this wonderful forum. Sometimes, it is difficult. Your cynical stab at our leaders (yes, we have real leaders) is dispicable.

LOL. You didn't answer the question.

I'll rephrase: Do you look like Ramsey Clark in addition to sounding like him?

Paragraphs are not needed to dispell agitprop such as yours, but as for reasons to remove Saddam, all you need is the following.

Saddam Hussein: In His Own Words
Quotes from Saddam and Iraq's regime-controlled media October 18, 2002
For years, Saddam Hussein and his regime have used state-controlled media in Iraq to spread lies, and threaten his neighbors and the world. Below is a sampling of quotes from Saddam and the Iraqi media -- keyed to significant events -- showing a pattern of threats stretching back more than a decade.

The Gulf War, February 1991
"We will chase [Americans] to every corner at all times. No high tower of steel will protect them against the fire of truth."
Saddam Hussein, Baghdad Radio, February 8, 1991

"[America] will not be excluded from the operations and explosions of the Arab and Muslim mujahidin and all the honest strugglers in the world."
Iraq News Agency, January 30, 1991 (State-controlled)

"What remains for Bush and his accomplices in crime is to understand that they are personally responsible for their crime. The Iraqi people will pursue them for this crime, even if they leave office and disappear into oblivion. There is no doubt they will understand what we mean if they know what revenge means to the Arabs."
Baghdad Radio, February 6, 1991 (State-controlled)

"Every Iraqi child, woman, and old man knows how to take revenge...They will avenge the pure blood that has been shed no matter how long it takes.
Baghdad Domestic Service, February 15, 1991 (State-controlled)

Iraq Masses Troops Against Kuwait, October 1994
"Does [America] realize the meaning of every Iraqi becoming a missile that can cross to countries and cities?"
Saddam Hussein, September 29, 1994

"[W]hen peoples reach the verge of collective death, they will be able to spread death to all..."
Al-Jumhuriyah, October 4, 1994 (State-controlled newspaper)

"[O]ur striking arm will reach [America, Britain and Saudi Arabia] before they know what hit them."
Al-Qadisiyah, October 6, 1994 (State-controlled newspaper)

"One chemical weapon fired in a moment of despair could cause the deaths of hundreds of thousands." Al-Quds al-Arabi, October 12, 1994 (State-controlled newspaper)

Release of UNSCOM Report, April 10, 1995
"Although Iraq's options are limited, they exist...Iraq's present state is that of a wounded tiger. Its blow could be painful, even if it is the last blow..."
Al-Quds Al-'Arabi, June 9, 1995 (State-controlled newspaper)

Khobar Towers Bombing, June 25, 1996
"[The U.S.] should send more coffins to Saudi Arabia, because no one can guess what the future has in store."
Saddam Hussein, Iraqi Radio, June 27, 1996

Operation Desert Fox, December 1998
"If [other Arab nations] persist on pursuing their wrongful path, then we should — or rather we must — place the swords of jihad on their necks..."
Saddam Hussein, January 5, 1999

"Oh sons of Arabs and the Arab Gulf, rebel against the foreigner...Take revenge for your dignity, holy places, security, interests and exalted values."
Saddam Hussein, January 5, 1999

"[Saudi Arabian and Kuwaiti] blood will light torches, grow aromatic plants, and water the tree of freedom, resistance and victory."
Saddam Hussein, Iraqi Radio, January 26, 1999

"Whoever continues to be involved in a despicable aggressive war against the people of Iraq as a subservient party must realize that this aggressive act has a dear price."
Saddam Hussein, February 16, 1999

"What is required now is to deal strong blows to U.S. and British interests. These blows should be strong enough to make them feel that their interests are indeed threatened not only by words but also in deeds."
Al-Qadisiyah, February 27, 1999 (State-controlled newspaper)

U.S.S. Cole Bombing, October 12, 2000
"[Iraqis] should intensify struggle and jihad in all fields and by all means..."
Iraq TV, October 22, 2000 (State-controlled)

The Attacks of September 11
"The United States reaps the thorns its rulers have planted in the world."
Saddam Hussein, September 12, 2001

"The real perpetrators [of September 11] are within the collapsed buildings."
Alif-Ba, September 11, 2002 (State-controlled newspaper)

"[September 11 was] God's punishment."
Al-Iktisadi, September 11, 2002 (State-controlled newspaper)

"If the attacks of September 11 cost the lives of 3,000 civilians, how much will the size of losses in 50 states within 100 cities if it were attacked in the same way in which New York and Washington were? What would happen if hundreds of planes attacked American cities?"
Al-Rafidayn, September 11, 2002 (State-controlled newspaper)

"The simple truth [about September 11] is that America burned itself and now tries to burn the world."
Alif-Ba, September 11, 2002 (State-controlled magazine)

"[I]t is possible to turn to biological attack, where a small can, not bigger than the size of a hand, can be used to release viruses that affect everything..."
Babil, September 20, 2001 (State-controlled newspaper)

"The United States must get a taste of its own poison..."
Babil, October 8, 2001

In case you have forgotten, or never made the connections.

Sorry that last note was so short. The thread I pinged you to....I'm NOT implying that that's what you're doing. I'm just saying we all need to be careful what's said, regarding this war, for obvious reasons.

Call it what you want but the beauty of the forum it gives independent thinkers a forum to bring up points for discussion that just never quite seem to make it to the script for the talking heads. If my comments interfere with your personal belief system that's your problem. Don't you wish more people would've questioned the conventional wisdom of the Viet Nam effort? I don't think it's despicable to question the motives of GWB because I'm quite there's no-one residing in this forum that knows the real truth of why we're involved in this current effort. You do not know for a fact as to whether he is beholding to big oil or not.
Believe what you wish and so will I.
