Darryl Worley's patriotic song "Have You Forgotten" is now #1 on the Radio & Records country music charts, for the week ending April 5th.
This is one of the fastest climbs to #1 by a song on the country charts. "Have You Forgotten" has been on the charts only 5 weeks....usually most songs take as long as 30 weeks from its chart debut to hit #1.

YAY!!! I love that song... Sean Hannity plays it all the time. Toby Keith has a great one out as well (can't remember the name).

That is such a powerful song, it almost takes your breath away.

Toby Keiths song is "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American). It's on the Uleashed CD. I've played that so many times I'm going to have to get a new one.

at the Worely concert about 10 days ago (the night of the Dixie "apology") Worley said something like, "How 'bout those Dixie Chicks!"

Aren't Worley and W friends from way back? I heard on Fox several weeks ago that Bush had said to a song-writing friend (Worley, I think), "You need to write a song about 9/11."
BTW, where are the Vichy Chicks on the charts this week? Betcha they hate like the dickens to see Worley at the top.

I am fortunate to have tickets for a Darryl Worley/Toby Keith concert this friday, 3/28 here in Montgomery, Al. Lots of military in this town, should be a hell of a time.

OK.
That's an outstanding graphic. I've always despised the Vichy Chicks and thought they made music that was the *country* equivalent of Brittany Spears.
My wife, though, is a big fan who just dropped over $300 (of my money! - could be a dimocrat in the making) to see them this summer here in SA.
That graphic has just become the background for my login on our XP-system computer!

Re: "It looks like the only playing Chick's song the country stations are playing is 'Traveling Soldier', which is patriotic."
107 MUS here in W. MI still is playing their stuff.
We were coming home from eting out with the stantion on and suddenly my husband switched stations.
"Dixie Chicks" says he.

Sean Hannity? He didn't even know about the song until our local talk radio guy, Phil Valentine, told him about it. Phil's been playing that song for weeks and in a phone conversation told Sean about it.
There's another song that should climb fast. It's by Clint Black and it's called "Iraq and I roll." Look for it.

Cool. Last time I checked they didn't have the lyrics up yet. Here they are.
"I RAQ AND ROLL"
Words and Music by Clint Black and Hayden Nicholas
YOU CAN WAVE YOUR SIGNS IN PROTEST
AGAINST AMERICA TAKING STANDS
THE STANDS AMERICA'S TAKEN
ARE THE REASON THAT YOU CAN
IF EVERYONE WOULD GO FOR PEACE
THERE'D BE NO NEED FOR WAR
BUT WE CAN'T IGNORE THE DEVIL
HE'LL KEEP COMING BACK FOR MORE
SOME SEE THIS IN BLACK AND WHITE
OTHERS ONLY GRAY
WE'RE NOT BEGGING FOR A FIGHT
NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY
WE HAVE THE RESOLUTION
THAT SHOULD PUT'EM ALL TO SHAME
BUT IT'S A DIFFERENT KIND OF DEADLINE
WHEN I'M CALLED IN THE GAME
CHORUS
I RAQ, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL
I'M BACK AND I'M A HIGH TECH GI JOE
I PRAY FOR PEACE, PREPARE FOR WAR
AND I NEVER WILL FORGET
THERE'S NO PRICE TOO HIGH FOR FREEDOM
SO BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU TREAD
THIS TERROR ISN'T MAN TO MAN
THEY CAN BE NO MORE THAN COWARDS
IF THEY WON'T SHOW US THEIR WEAPONS
WE MIGHT HAVE TO SHOW THEM OURS
IT MIGHT BE A SMART BOMB
THEY FIND STUPID PEOPLE TOO
AND IF YOU STAND WITH THE LIKES OF SADDAM
ONE JUST MIGHT FIND YOU
CHORUS II
I ROCK, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL
I'M BACK AND I'M A HIGH TECH GI JOE
I'VE GOT INFRARED, I'VE GOT GPS AND I'VE GOT THAT GOOD OLD FASHIONED LEAD
THERE'S NO PRICE TOO HIGH FOR FREEDOM
SO BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU TREAD
BRIDGE
NOW YOU CAN COME ALONG
OR YOU CAN STAY BEHIND
OR YOU CAN GET OUT OF THE WAY
BUT OUR TROOPS TAKE OUT THE GARBAGE
FOR THE GOOD OLD U.S.A.
I ROCK, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL
IN THE USA
I ROCK, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL
