If they're taking out our tanks with pickup trucks, we could be in for a long fight.

Presumably had ATGMs mounted on them.
Have been an effective weapon before, in the "Toyota War" when Libya tried to take over Northern Chad in the 1980s, the Chadians got a buch of Toyota 4x4s and put French MILAN missle launchers in the bed. With a little bit of French Air support, the Chadians zoomed around at high speed and destroyed over a thousand Libyan tanks.

Just shows you can't believe the maps. Every map I've seen has shown 7th Cav well to the east and slightly to the South of 3ID. I had presumed it was acting as an independent Armored Cav. unit since its parent is 1st Cav Div., but this report has it moving within the 3ID's advance.

If they're taking out our tanks with pickup trucks, we could be in for a long fight. Agreed. There is something strange about this story. Did the engagement with the pickup trunks above take 30hrs, or is the text above just describing a minor episode within the 30hr long engagement.

However, without friendly air support...
A Toyota ATGM is dead meat.

True, but it's obvious the weather has exposed us to this vulnerability. Let's hope things clear up so we can apply our air power.

We didnt take any prisoners, James said. Clearly general officer material.

Presumably had ATGMs mounted on them. I seem to remember reading elswhere that it is believed they were using MILAN missles and were able to hit the heavies from behind. It is intrestin to note that none of the crews in these "destroyed" vehicles was killed leaving one to wonder how badly damaged they are.

Weather's also a problem for ATGMs.
This has been a possibility since Day One.
Some folks don't seem to understand that this is a WAR, not a game of Command and Conquer on "Easy" mode.

No Americans were reported killed, although two Abrams tanks and a Bradley fighting vehicle were destroyed by enemy fire. Remarkable and curious. The author's use of the word "destroyed" strikes me as inaccurate. Disabled, perhaps, lost function, perhaps- either of these can be accomplished with no fatalities. "Destroyed" suggests a catastrophic, high order kill on the vehicle which would certainly result in fatalities.
To: Leisler
and killed all the Republican Guard soldiers. We didnt take any prisoners, James said Well I love hearing that.
Especially after learning how the ba$tids are treating our troops.
I say "No quarter given".
