"BAGHDAD JIM" MCDERMOTT SPONSORS RESOLUTION TO RESCIND AUTHORIZATION FOR WAR
03/26/03 | Patriot62

Our very own Congressman, "Baghdad Jim" McDermott had a rough evening. A substantial group of Patriotic Americans (Spurred on by KVI's John Carlson) crashed his scheduled appearance outside the Federal Building in Downtown Seattle last night. A surprisingly small crowd of about 250 Anti-America demonstrators were suddenly inundated by about 150 Pro-America demonstrators just minutes before McDermott took the podium.

McDermott seemed to be taken aback by the boisterous crowd holding We Support Our Troops signs and chanting USA!...USA! McDermott stated that the Anti-America movement was actually pro-troops because they don't want our soldiers to get hurt, while the insensitive pro-America crowd callously advocates sending our troops into harm's way. Using that logic, perhaps we should keep our police officers at the police station, after all one could get hurt stopping a robbery. Responding to the boos and taunts of the crowd, McDermott finally blurted out "If you hypocrites really support this war you should go straight down to the recruiting office and sign up for duty!"

So we have a congressman who believes that only those in the military have the right to advocate on foreign policy matters, if only it were so. Nonetheless, Mcdermott's insinuation that only those who serve in the military have the right to comment on matters of war effectively disenfranchises the other 99% of us who are not in the armed services.

As a stunned McDermott left the rally, one of his constituents greeted him "Thanks for coming, Traitor!" What a great moment in American History.

Last week McDermott again brought honor to our state by voting no on a congressional resolution supporting our troops, the resolution passed by an overwhelming 392-11. McDermott is at it again today, co-authoring a resolution to rescind authorization for the war in which we are currently engaged. Shouldn't McDermott's photo be placed in the dictionary right next to the word despicable?

Got to love that progaganda. I small crowd of 250 anti-American demonstrators was 'inundated' by 150 pro-American. I was always under the impression that 250 was greater than 150.

Why is not wanting to engage in a war considered anti-American. At worst it could be only construed as being anti-Bush. I suppose it's a labeling thing. Since most people who are anti-war tend towards being liberal, therefore anyone anti-war is a liberal (lefty, commie bastard, etc.) and vice versa. Therefore in order to adhere to one's established label one has to adopt a pro or anti-war point of view.

However, what if you're for gun rights, property rights but are still anti-war, does that still make one an anti-American commie, etc., etc.

"If you hypocrites really support this war you should go straight down to the recruiting office and sign up for duty!"

Why is this always the last comment that an anarchist, Bush-hating malcontent will use, without fail?

I can't count how many times those idiots use this argument as a "last resort". It's so ridiculous.

It's like the adult version of, "Yeah?! So?! You're just a poopy-head!"

And the entire black caucus, including Rangel who spoke at an anti war rally in NY last weekend. What traitors!

How about a resolution to rescind "Baghdad Jim" McDermott's birth certificate?

This was an Anti-America Rally - the crowds for these rallies had been dwindling all week. Organizers expected thousands to show up for McDermott's Anti-America pontifications. After all this is radical/Leftist Seattle. Instead only 250 showed up. 150 pro-Americans showing up is a big crowd because this was an Anti-America Rally!

It would be most gratifying to see McDermott serve his next term at Leavenworth, for sedition.

The new mantra for the rats handed down from their leader Barbra Striesand.

I once had a liberal tell me to go sign up for service if I was so much in favor of war.

I told them that I would be more than happy to do so, under three circumstances:

1. If I could fly a plane with a huge bomb.
2. If they would be a human shield.
3. If they would tell me exactly where they would be standing.

The reaction was not very kind.

Shouldn't Jihad Jim be taking time out from kissing Saddam's a$$ to lick his recently acquired wounds? I am sure W could get the funding to drop Jihad over Baghdad.

Bump, my ideas for this should best not even be said.

McDermott seems to advocate a military dictatorship.

Of course if we had a military dictatorship, they would have already shot him for treason, when he went to Iraq supporting Saddam.

Yeh! Like all the Democrats did when Clinton deployed troops 40 times during his reign of terror!

He invalidates his own protest movement. They have no right to comment, right? They're not in the military, either!!!

I wish I was there. Would have asked if he would sponser a bill allowing those over the present age limitations. Force him into a stance. I believe there are enough vets out there that would be willing to serve again that we can take this sound bite away from them.

Yes. Those against this war are also against the troops, no matter what they say.
