POWs and the New Media: Hugh Hewitt warns of danger to troops from Hollywood blathering
WorldNetDaily.com ^ | Wednesday, March 26, 2003 | Hugh Hewitt

For the duration of the war, I suggest you change your home page to the POW-MIA and casualty page of Have You Forgotten. The presence of POWs changes everything about how Americans should speak publicly about the war. It is, of course, the right of every American to be a dishonorable and dishonest lout like Michael Moore, but the fact of American POWs and the instantaneous operation of modern media changes the ethics of commentary during the war.

It will not be a long war, though it will have and already has had an enormous cost attached to it for any family that loses a loved one. There will be no great sacrifice by the television and radio talking heads and the larger blathering class, if they collectively keep anti-American rants to themselves for the duration. But there could be enormous costs for POWs for those who shout screeds into open mikes while Americans are captive.

My friend Rich Botkin wrote about the effects of the useful idiots of the Vietnam generation in a recent WorldNetDaily column that I suggest you read. POWs are susceptible to enough abuse without providing fodder to their captors, which Michael Moore surely did on Monday night.

If Moore hasn't already considered it, he ought to be thinking about the reception he will receive if it turns out that his frothings were replayed for any of our captives. His website apparently shut down yesterday, and I doubt it was because of the congratulations he received. If any of our captives comes home and lets it be known that Moore's incoherence was part of their abuse, we can only hope that no one ever exhibits his silly pictures again.

These are the consequences of a wired world and dish networks. I cringe when I see any interview that could be used to harass prisoners, and there are many such interviews. Of course, the propaganda value of Moore and his like is already high for our enemies, but this is just a cost of freedom: Idiots can get amplification.

But since self-discipline is the only discipline that will ever be applied to the posers of the left, perhaps if they can see the faces of those that might suffer more because of their self-indulgence, they will display a little decency. The odds are not great that they will, but the website above is a good place to start.

Less is Moore

by Mia T, Sunday, March 23, 2003

"We live in the time where we have fictitious election results that elect a fictitious president. We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons whether it's the fiction of duct tape or the fiction of orange alerts. We are against this war, Mr. Bush. Shame on you, Mr. Bush. Shame on you."

Michael Moore, accepting Oscar for best documentary feature

Less is Moore…

Corollary: The utility of useful-idiot Hollywood varies directly with the box office.

Not only did Hollywood give Moore a standing O (before the "boos," i.e., before Moore opened his mouth), they voted for Moore to get the Oscar in the first place.

But Hollywood didn't roll up the red carpet for nothing. Hollywood expected a more nuanced acceptance speech from Moore. Indeed, Hollywood expected Moore's win to speak for itself… and for them (the hypocritical cowards)!

Clearly, Moore is too dim-witted to have understood that calculus…

I was hoping Hugh would have been tougher on Erwin Chemerinsky yesterday but I suppose their friendship caused him to pull his punches. Chemerinsky is a clueless commie puke.

WE FREEPED THE OSCARS!
Posted on 03/23/2003 6:28 PM PST by Cinnamon Girl

Outside the Kodak theater, as close as the police would allow: thousands of patriots rallied in support of the troops, the President, and America. Flags waving, signs, and chants: "IMPEACH MARTIN SHEEN," "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS," "WE LOVE BUSH," "LIBERATE IRAQ."

NOW FOR WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW: Yes, we were in plain sight of plenty of media cameras and the LIMOUSINE LIBERAL HOLLYWOOD LEFTIES! Several women in limos held up the "peace" sign, one actress unfurled a "no blood for oil" sign out her limo window. I only saw her sleeve so I'll have to wait until I see the inside pictures to know who it was. Another actress with a platinum blonde short shag held a "war is not the answer" sign out her tinted window as her limo turned the corner to the Kodak entrance.

Because of these Hollywood ingrates, streets were blocked off by police all around the area and we had to walk about two miles around the vicinity of Hollywood and Highland to get to our protest site.

Several people in our crowd had bullhorns and we chanted "Back to Berkeley," "USA" "G-d Bless America," "LAPD," "Smoke Saddam, not crack." Often, the chants were directed toward the ANTI-BUSH, ANTI-FREEDOM nuts who were situated on the opposite corner with their "BUSH IS STUPID" and "BUSH IS HITLER" signs. Most of their ILK were down on Sunset with their drums and their peace signs, gettin' busy bein' stupid...

Observing Michael Moore's rotund frame, I assume Fatboy scarfs down triple platters of Freedom Fries with his burgers. {burp!}

The only way to hurt the Wholeyweird Left is to lessen their profits. I therefore have resolved to wait until the damn movies come out on video...

and then rent at the new cutrate, cutthroat video stores like Family Video that charge $1.25 for brand new releases like "Maid in Manhattan".

Of course downloading for free is another option, hehehe.
