I am sure the FBI is already looking into any source for the uniforms. They have known about this for awhile.

Well, we heard earlier that Saddam was buying American uniforms. Makes sense now.

Democracy and capitalism in the Middle East is a wonderful benefit to the liberation of Iraq.

I guess you'd have to call this unfriendly friendly fire.

This is just a hint of the stupidity we will be dealing w/ on a daily basis once the war is over.

All the more reason to let the UN/Farce/Germany come in and administer the transitional government.

I guess if you want to get the people (that are still alive anyway) on your side, this would be one way to do it.......sick, sick, sick... But the UN wanted to have inspections run for 6 more months before taking any action..... Sheesh.

Afterthought on the embedded reporters: I would think (and hope) they would see it. It WAS a Sky Reporter that broke the news of the Basra rebellion after all.

It used to be that dressing in an opposition uniform for the purpose of combat was grounds for summary execution, same for civilians taking up arms, the 1950 Rules of Land Warfare changed that but how, I forget.

We should take tips from the paras.

" This took place during an assault by British paratroops on the schoolhouse. I take my account from Hastings and Jenkins -

The Argentine defenders fought back fiercely until a white flag suddenly appeared from an enemy position. One of D's subalterns, Jim Barry, moved forward to accept the surrender. He was instantly shot dead. It was almost certainly a mishap in the fog of war rather than a deliberate act of treachery, but the infuriated paras unleashed 66mm rockets, Carl Gustav rounds and machine-gun fire into the building. It was quickly ablaze. No enemy survivors emerged."

No wonder there haven't been the mass surrenders that were hoped for. You have to admit that the Iraqis were well aware of what happened previously. Something like this could have been predicted.

Link and excerpt from FOX News:

Anti-Saddam Revolt Reported in Basra

Iraqi Fedayeen are reportedly firing at the Shiite protesters, who have the support of British troops in the area. Coalition forces, in turn, are reportedly firing missiles at the pro-Saddam forces.

Meanwhile, senior Defense officials told Fox News that intelligence reports indicate that Iraqi forces — either special Republican Guard forces or Fedayeen Saddam terrorists — in and around Basra are dressing up as U.S. soldiers, then accepting the surrender of other Iraqi forces and executing them.

Is this conjecture, or documented?

Well... it's pretty much verbless, at any rate.

So, was he series? Was he logged in?

Maybe it's haiku. Nah, too many syllables.
